The rain pounded down. Everything was dark, but upstairs in Godric's Hollow, a young mother was softly singing to the music that came out of the radio. Her baby boy was just closing his innocent eyes as a soul-less man made his way to the door.

That your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?
"Lily, take Harry and go! It's him! Go! Run! I'll hold him off–" James yelled upwards to the nursery. He stumbled to the entrance, not sure how to approach this but love and fear kept him in place.

This child that you've delivered,
Will soon deliver you.
A high-pitched cackle brought icy cold fear to burn through him. No, he thought. He didn't have time to think, only react as a red light hame towards him. He used his wand putting his shield up in time, sending a separate spell back at the once-man creature.

That your baby boy will give hope to a blind man?
He didn't hear it coming, only saw the green light moving to its target. Why Peter? He thought as his lifeless body hit the ground.

Lily shed tears knowing that her husband, her protector, her love was no more. No, she thought brokenly. Placing her baby in his crib, she kissed his forehead and whispered "Your Mummy and Daddy love you baby".

And when you kiss your little baby,

The footsteps echoed through the house, the rain not cowering up the squeaking steps or the smell of evil he carried as an aura.

Lily turned up the radio, allowing the music to travel and surround her and her child. Turing she saw him reaching the upper stairs. In an almost hopeful attempt she closed the door.
The blind will see
The deaf will hear
The dead will live again.
The lame will leap
The dumb will speak
The praises of your lamb.
He burst through without any conflict. Wood splinters spread out in different directions. Some imbedding themselves deep into Lily's shielding arm. Not bothering with her wand, knowing that it would do no use she shielded Harry with her body.
"Not Harry, please no, take me, kill me instead –"
Oh Lily, did you know
That your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
"Stand aside, you silly girl… stand aside now," he growled out at her. But she refused to move. His wand went up pointing straight at her heart. A jet of green light came out of the tip.

That your baby boy will one day rule the nations?
Only one thought went through Lily Potter's mind, I love my boys with all my heart.

Blue eyes lost their twinkle. Over half moon glasses, he watched the sun rise red. It was over, he knew, but not for always.
