Ohhh...
'Hello Dean.' Castiel announced as he materialised in the middle of the motel room.
Dean turned around from where he was sat on the side of his bed cleaning his guns. 'Oh, hey Cas.' He grinned at the angel but the angel made a sad face at him. Seeing the look of despair on the celestial being's face gave Dean cause for concern. He stopped what he was doing and quickly walked up to his friend. Grabbing hold of one of the angel's shoulders, he shook him slightly. 'What's up, Cas? What happened?' He asked impatiently.
Cas looked away for a moment before turning his intense stare back to meet Dean's worried eyes. 'Dean, I may not see you again. I came to see you before I need to go away.' The angel vaguely clarified.
'Wh...what? No...Cas, you can't leave me. You promised. How can you do this to me? No, damnit. I won't let you go. You can't go.' Dean was pacing the room like a caged animal but only faster.
'Dean...'
'No, Cas.' Dean abruptly stopped and then marched towards the angel. 'I'm not letting you go. We need you. I need you.' He declared.
'But, Dean...'
'Shut up Cas.' The hunter pulled the angel in his arms and kissed him, not wanting to hear his explanations or excuses which he was sure the angel would surely have thought up. Pulling away from the kiss, he tried to school his face to appear emotionless but he couldn't help the flutter he felt in his heart when he saw Cas' red cheeks. Then Cas started to smile in a creepy way and the alarm bells started ringing in Dean's head. 'What?' He asked, dreading the answer as he waited wide-eyed.
Cas sensed Dean's discomfort so he moved closer to his charge to give some reassurance to him. 'I may have understood this tradition wrong. I thought humans purposely lie on this day and have done for centuries with good results. It wasn't my intention to upset you or make you uncomfortable. I apologise.' Cas bowed his head in genuine sadness.
'What the fuck are you going on about?' Dean felt irritated by his angel's cryptic talk. 'Feather-brain.' He muttered under his breath.
'Happy April Fool's Day. Dean, I want you to know I would never leave you. I merely couldn't think of any other lie. Nevertheless, I am happy to know that I am needed here.' Cas smiled.
'Son of a bitch.' Dean barked out in anger but he couldn't help the smile that broke out on his face.
