Prologue:
In Rome the 17th Century.
As she gathered up the bottom of the dress, she started to run. The maids and servants had to cover her as she darted through the sun that shined through cracks of the old castle. She knew that there were people on their way to kill her, for she was not human. She ran to basement where there was an escape tunnel that led to the ocean. Once she got there she could here the riot above her, the screams of those who helped her escape. She closed her eyes and sent a silent prayer to her gods, as she finished she made a mad dash through the tunnels. The tunnel was pitch black, but it only took her a few moments to adjust to the darkness. She followed the tunnel till there was some light, she then found a burlap sack, and it was full of men's clothing. She hurried and stripped out of her Victorian dress and slipped into the menswear. She pulled her hair back, and tied it into a man's look. She sighed a little to her self as she went to the ground and grabbed handfuls of dirt and smudged all over her face, arms, and hands. As she looked in the sack, looking for anything that would cover her face, she found a note from her father. She let out a saddened hiccup as she sat herself down and started to read.
