Of the Singing Muse

A/N: It came to my attention that I haven't written any Makaria's in awhile...and seeing as how I have a creative itch and too much time on my hands (WOOT! SPRING BREAK!)...

I do not own the Legend of Zelda

Slowly did the bow of Makar's bow go across his violin, creating a sweet sound never heard of in this world. A sound of sadness, of joy, of pain, of hope. A lone tear crept down the Korok's face as he played in his temple, the winds bringing him no comfort.

Elsewhere, in the land where the spirits dwell, a ghostly figure looked up, silver tears outlined upon her white face. Sniffing, she twitched her ears, listening for the song. She started to hum, warming up her vocal cords, but then joining in, her voice a perfect harmony to the sound she heard.

"And when I leave

For all must leave

This song

Will be our bond

Binding us across

Time

Eternity.

Cry not your tears of strife

But your tears of joy.

We will meet again

In the Eternal Land

And dance with the winds

Sing with the trees."

The spirit's voice grew stronger, and her body itself seemed to become corporeal. She twirled, laughing on the inside, but still singing to the world.

Makar's tears stopped, and his playing grew faster, more intense.

"Bonds will never be broken

Although lives will be taken

Remember me

Through this song.

Keep me in your heart,

Throughout your time

Until we meet again

In the Eternal Land

And dance with the winds

Sing with the trees."

The spirit was now singing as she did when she was alive, living in the Forest Temple. Her green hair was starting to show through the ghostly white it had become.

Makar focused so intently upon his playing, he didn't notice the change in himself. A spark appeared, urging him to play. He had to continue to play...

"And though life may separate us

The living and the dead

Our love will connect us

So that no Evil

No Good

Can tear us apart.

Until we meet again

In the Eternal Land

And dance with the winds

Sing with the trees."

Makar put down his bow and violin, wondering at this newfound feeling within him

And elsewhere in the world, Saria stopped dancing, with the hope that her love will come.

"Until we meet again

In the Eternal Land

And dance with the winds

Sing with the trees."
