After Arceus-only-knows time had passed, Jacob found himself regaining his consciousness. At best, the details of where he was and what were happening were foggy. At worst, they were nil. He tossed, and turned for a little while, before flickering his eyes awake and actually taking in the current surroundings. There was a bright light all around, and he seemed to be in a void of some sort. The very edges of his vision melted into a rainbow of colors, occasionally shifting shades between various arguably pretty and arguably soothing blues, greens, and even a red or pink or two.

"Wh... what? Where am I..." He groaned out in a raspy voice, slowly getting up. He had no clue what was going on, where he was, or why his head was currently undergoing a throbbing headache. Was he dead? Was this the afterlife? He didn't feel dead, but what did being dead feel like? Trying to think... He couldn't even remember anything about himself, either. He knew he had been a human trainer, and the last thing he can remember was someone wishing him luck... He couldn't place why he needed luck, or whether he actually felt lucky, at all.

Jacob wandered around awhile, the visage of color and white around him barely changing any no matter how far he moved and no matter the direction. Then, there was a voice. A sign that he was in fact not the only living creature here. "Hello!" It cried out to him. Much like the light, the voice had sounded all encompassing here.

"Welcome to the world inhabited only by Pokémon!" The voice sounded energetic and playful, almost innocent and childlike in a way. "Why don't you go ahead and tell me a few details about yourself?" It had inquired of him. Now was not exactly the best time for this...

Taking in a few more details, the whole place felt blurry and in some weird half-existential state. Almost like a dream, but more real. Come to think of it, he felt much the same way! And he was! A quick glance down revealed Jacob didn't actually have a body of any kind! He was just a listlessly floating consciousness!

And yet, he felt compelled to answer this mysterious voice's questions. Somewhere deep in his subconscious, he realized he may have been able to pinpoint a few things, like what he would do in various situations. Besides, maybe then the voice would reveal what was going on here!

...No, that wasn't right. Every time he tried to think of or remember a detail in any capacity, he just found his pulsing headache getting worse which each passing thought. "It's okay if you can't remember anything. How about I just ask you a few questions? Don't worry, they aren't personal questions. I just want you to answer honestly, and truthfully. Okay?" It confirmed. Jacob agreed, and the questions were on.

"One of your closest friends is doing something you suspect to be wrong. What do you do?"

"I would do whatever my feelings tell me to do. I'd consider myself having a decently clear since of right and wrong.

"It's a beautiful, ordinary day outside! How do you spend it?"

"I would probably... Spend it with my friends. They're important to me, and I'm important to them!"

"There's a really important project due to tomorrow! What do you do?"

"Well, if it's important, I'd hurry and get it done the best I can! Usually, I procrastinate, unless there's something really passionate or driving behind it."

"What are Pokémon to you?"
"Pokémon are my friends and partners, just like any human I know!"

"What Pokémon would you consider your closest friend?"

"Probably Riolu. Maybe Sylveon?"

"Are you a male or a female?"

"Male."

That was the end of the questions for Jacob, and he felt oddly like he knew more about himself than he expected, for one reason or another. For a minute, the voice was silent, evidently processing the information provided.

"Alright!" It says back after hardly any time at all. "Now, for the final step. Simply close your eyes, focus, and open your mind. I will analyze your aura. Okay?" It asks. Jacob couldn't help but comply, closing his eyes and thinking to himself. Deep breaths... Relax... Relax... To his additional surprise, he felt at the very least his headache clearing, and definitely less stressed about this entire situation than he had been. The voice came back, speaking softly.

"Very good. Now... I would say your Aura is..." It said, pausing for effect. When it was over, he found his eyes quickly opened again. This time, the void was entirely tinted in a vibrant cyan color that was distinctly pleasing.

"A luscious blue!" It says. Jacob had no idea what this meant.

"It's clear that you value companionship. You place a great deal of trust in your friends, and they trust you back. But at the same time, you wouldn't be afraid to step up if something's wrong. Maybe your ideals get you a little hot-headed from time to time? Do you find yourself saying things you tend to regret? That's okay, you can't be perfect in conversation. You would do you what you find to be right for the world, even if that's working in the worst case scenario. But hey, working like that will bring out the best work you can."

After that, Jacob spent some time sitting in silence, trying to ponder and process the voice's analysis. What did it mean, exactly? Was it true? Then, it quickly revealed that it wasn't done just yet. It sounded as though it had nearly forgotten everything, and the void quickly shifted back to its old colors.

"Oh, that's right! You still don't have a body, do you? Based on your aura, I think someone like you..." It said, pausing for effect again. "Would be the Pokémon Eevee!" It called out, sounding definitely proud of its decision. Suddenly, Jacob felt a surge of energy, and felt himself land on something. A quick look down revealed a body of tan, brown fur entirely around him. Instead of standing on two feet like humans tend to do, Jacob found himself with four paws. He yelped quietly to himself, and his fur poofed out gently as he did so. There was a cream tipped tail around his back, and any attempt to revert to a human stance resulted him falling back down to this one. He continued to try to inspect himself, further, but... he definitely seemed to be an Eevee now, which was definitely disorienting. Not to mention the fact it still felt like he was standing on technically nothing in this void.

Luckily, he wasn't immediately thrust into danger. He spent a little time running around the void, seeing the landscape expand infinitely. He realized he was more agile than as a human, along with some other facts. The voice probably gave him this time to practice moving around with his new body, using moves, etc. Luckily, most of it came fairly naturally to him.

Then, after he felt ready and confident with this body, the void slowly began to fade away into an intense white light, continuing until Jacob had to shut his eyes from it. "Right! Looks like you're all set! We'll meet again!" The voice called out, just before the entire void was enveloped in the white color. The last thing he let out was a light yawn, before he felt himself lose consciousness, and the void slowly slip away.
