More Notes – Some Anime events will have happened, while others may not have. Also, Anime characters will be showing up. Also, sorry, my grammar and punctuation may be a little off, so please let me know of any spelling mistakes.

About Red – Red has done all the events in the Red/Blue/Green games, even capturing all but 1 Pokémon in the Kanto region, and that was Mew. He does talk, just very quietly and in very few words. He also has his original team in this story so; Pikachu, Snorlax, Espeon, Blastoise, Venusaur and Charizard.

Chapter 1 – Prologue

On top of the summit of a large mountain that was constantly under the influence of severe weather climates, such as harsh snowfall and even thunderstorms, which could cause havoc amongst the Pokémon living there, it was a mountain that many dared not climb, due to the outrageously strong Pokémon that reside there, along with the terrible conditions that can easily kill even the most prepared explorer.

Although, it did have its upsides once you got on to the summit of the mountain; the gorgeous view of most of the Kanto region on one side, and the Jhoto region on the other side. One boy was not swayed by this and challenged the unstable and dangerous mountain, one of the tallest in the world.

That boy was Red, the young man born in Pallet Town and the youngest champion to ever be crowned, being only a measly 12 years of age when he conquered the Pokémon League and beating his rival as the final hurdle to be crowned champion. He became the Champion of a region within his first year of his journey, something that not many others could even say.

He only ever lost one battle, and that was the very first battle he ever did versing Blue, and that was when he first received his starter Pokémon. Ever since then, he became a dominant force, he became a person who many dreamed of becoming and even the inspiration to others for their own Pokémon journey.

However, the population, except for a very small amount were shocked to realise that one day, Red suddenly vanished without a trace.

This took the world by shock, one of the best trainers the world has ever seen... just gone without a trace. Every single media outpost was on this constantly, always reporting on every other day about 'new' information about this champion that vanished. Some called him a mysterious hero, one that shows himself only when he is needed, others called him a person who didn't want the spotlight on him 24/7... which was rather true considering his reputation, he couldn't even travel through a small town the size of Pallet Town without getting bombarded by onlookers and many fangirls and fanboys... some were more annoying and creepier for the next.

With the news dying down and how about half of the population of Kanto and Jhoto believing he was dead, the other half, still believed that he was alive.

Some of the world were in mourning about how the person who disbanded Team Rocket single handily and inspired so many others to follow their dreams. Although, they will get the shock of a lifetime when he returns to the world, this time, not petrified about being in the spotlight and on TV more often.

On top of the rather unstable mountain edge, stood a man, standing roughly 5'7 with rather long black hair that spiked every so often and red eyes that seemed to pierce the soul of whoever he was looking at, along with the general creepy vibe he gave off.

His clothing was somewhat roughed up and a few sizes too small for him. The red from his red and white cap was fading into more of a rough pinkish colour and had some small holes in it, his red and white vest that he wore was unzipped due to the zipper being broken and was a few sizes too small for him, with it tearing at the seams a little due to it, but he went along with it, due to him not having much else to wear, except for another two changes of clothes that he brought with him, and a couple of pairs of black fingerless gloves due to their size and comfort he found from them. His black undershirt had definitely seen better days, with it having some small burn marks along the fabric. His jeans, which were once a nice dark blue colour, were now faded and were now ripped jeans with some of them tears being at the knees, and another few scattered along them.

He was looking blankly out to the horizon, not at all bothered by the cold winds which have killed many risk takers before him, along with the constant state of snow and near hail conditions. He was used to it; his body having adapted to this environment and conditions.

While he was on this mountain, he rarely, if at ever had a challenger appear on the mountain, hardly anyone made it to the top with their full team of Pokémon still kicking at full energy.

Although, some were stubborn enough to keep on pushing and retrying to make it to the top. Apparently, from what he heard from the last challenger that appeared, he was considered a myth and even a legend in some places of the expanding world.

'The Shadow of the Mountain.'

He had to hold back a snort at that name, people sure were... creative with their names. The only reason why he got it was because he had to save some people with his own Pokémon from the reckless decision they had made. Sure, his Pokémon then called him a hypocrite, but hey, he was still alive and kicking and made it to the top.

He suddenly felt another weight land on his broad shoulders, which knocked him out of his thoughts and memories. He didn't even need to look as he knew that it was Pikachu who did it, one of the two Pokémon that rides on his shoulders, the other one, being Espeon, who was tucked away in her Pokeball.

"Chu!" The electric mouse squeaked out, waving one of his paws in Red's face, something that made the corner of his lips twitch upwards. He brought his left hand up and rubbed under the chin of Pikachu, who mewled under the contact.

"Kaaa~"

"Do you reckon it's time?" Red said in a near whisper of a voice to Pikachu, who blinked a few times getting rid of the bliss he felt from the petting he just received. He had a rather cute thinking face on as he thought about this.

"Pika!" Pikachu exclaimed, pumping a small fist in the air as some small sparks flew from his rosy and chubby cheeks, his zig-zagged shape tail twitching ever so slightly from the breeze.

Red had another small smile on his face as he rubbed under Pikachu's chin again. While he may not talk that much and seem like a cold guy to anyone that doesn't know him that well, he treats his Pokémon with the utmost care and respect they deserve, even respecting their wishes if they wanted to be released back into the wild after he caught them.

"Alright then." He murmured to himself, bringing his arm that was petting Pikachu down and turning on his heel, not even flinching as his broken shoes had snow pile onto his feet. Now, he had one destination in mind, going to his small hideout that he made, one which served as his temporary home.

As he trudged along the snowy ground, far behind him, just coming through the clouds was a silhouette of a Pokémon, it gave a large roar as it met the harsh winds and snow of the area, one which seemed to not affect the nearby forests and towns.

"Huh?" "Pika?"

Seemingly caught off guard, Red turned on his heel once again, Pikachu holding onto his shoulders with a vice-like grip and squinted they squinted thier eyes.

Sure enough, the blur was becoming larger and larger as it came closer, rocketing towards them at an astounding pace, although nowhere near his Charizard's speed, it was still quick.

As the blur came closer, Pikachu jumped off from his perch on Red's shoulder and started getting into a defensive position. While living on this mountain with Pokémon that are basically super charged and more resistant to their weaknesses, anything could be a danger, and he wasn't going to let his trainer get into danger.

Red quickly placed his hand down onto Pikachu's head and rubbed between his ears, getting a coo from the Pokémon, while he also stopped emitting sparks from his cheeks. Red saw before Pikachu that this was a Dragonite, more specifically, one carrying some mail as seen by its satchel around one of its arms.

The Dragonite let out another roar, letting its presence known once again, before coming skidding to a halt, and kicking up a couple of inches of snow once he landed and a sharp gust of wind, one that made Red cover his face from preventing icicles from hitting his face.

He raised an eyebrow once he saw Dragonite look him over carefully, before reaching into a bag and pulled out a rather high-duty letter, one that looked expensive just from the sight of it.

The orange bipedal dragon with a wingspan and wing size too small for its own body, yet it was still able to fly waddled over to him, its feet crunching along the frozen chunks of the ground and held out its paw, with the letter in hand.

Once he took the letter from the Pokémon, before he could even ask it if it wanted to gather its energy back and rest in his little homemade cave big enough for his entire party to fit in, it flapped its small wings and launched off the cliffside, with it bellowing some cries, maybe of happiness once it realised it would no longer be in the freezing cold of the mountain.

He felt Pikachu climb onto his shoulders again, he was blinking in confusion at the letter now found in his trainer's hands.

Red saw this confused look and shrugged his shoulders, an unknown look on his face. For the entire time that he was on this mountain, never once did he receive anything, not even letters from his mother or even Professor Oak, sure, he sent some, but they were never returned.

'Maybe Oak finally relented... maybe even mother... but to who exactly?' That was the thing on Red's mind, he knew that this couldn't be from an average family, from the very brief times he was in a Poke Mart, he vaguely remembered seeing mail as something over 1000 Poke dollars.

He shook his head clear of those thoughts, before finally falling into his curiosity, he tore through the wrapping like he was an enraged Scyther that had ketchup spilled all over his face.

As he finally got through all the wrapping of the heavy-duty material, he saw another, smaller letter. This time he sighed to himself, thinking that he got overworked for nothing, before tearing open the letter, to see if it was just to get a ruse out of him.

Once he did open the remnants of the wrapping. He saw that it was very formal and very cursive writing, nearly unreadable to him... his writing was always on the sloppier side of the spectrum.

As he and Pikachu soon read through the letter with some difficulty, he was surprised to see that it was from someone named Charles Goodshow, as he was confused about who it was, he was glad that it stated that he was the President of the League Competition Committee. He was also shocked to see that he had been invited to a Pokémon Tournament, in a place called... Lumiose City? In the Kalos Region... he had no idea where that was, and it was just another reason for him to leave the mountain.

He blinked a couple of times, deciding to pocket the letter the best he could, he then turned on his heel once again, this time he would hopefully enter the nice and warm cavern he had made his home, and where his other Pokeballs were.

"Well... what do you think about another tournament?" Red asked Pikachu softly, as he looked out of the corner of his eye as he saw Pikachu bouncing on his shoulder happily and flexing his muscles in his arms... which made him look ridiculous as is.

END CHAPTER

Alright guys, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I hope you like the start to this story, I do hope that it is somewhat different, with all the Red stories I have read, they always go to the Unova region... and I must admit, that is one of my least favourite regions in the Pokemon World.

Anyways, this is a Harem if you haven't noticed, I am only certain on two females in the Harem, and that is Cynthia and Yellow. I will set a limit for 7 females, so please let me know of them, remember, they can be from the anime, games or even manga.
