A/N: Heya. It's certainly been a while. To be honest, I completely left the fandom over a year ago, before Fairy Tail ended. There's just been so much about the manga and the fandom that I disliked for MANY reasons. I don't like any of the "big four" ships, and I've been really critical about the writing of the manga. But I'll save you all the trouble ^^;

Basically, I still love Laxeel. I'm quite disappointed that there hasn't really been anything new, in fact, I've been rereading older Laxeel fics. (I remember back when they were still updating. Fun :D) So I wrote this really quick 2-shot. I have plans for another fic but there's no real guarantee. I fucking love this ship but I have moved on to different interests and different fandoms.

These two chapters are pretty short, really casually written, with a liiittle bit of angst and plenty of sex, so! Enjoy! And..thank you for your patience!

The sun was just setting when they'd arrived at the bar. After a hard few days of work the mages felt they deserved something. A drink tonight and a spa day tomorrow would do. Everyone was beaten up and tired, but a successful day isn't successful until you've had a good drink, at least, according to Cana.

A select few members were sent on a mission to stake out for an enemy guild, terrorizing the town. Their goal was to return a precious gemstone to the town's mayor, which was stolen by the guild. That gemstone, made into a necklace, was powerful, and made it's user extremely strong, nearly indestructible. It was an S-class mission, but Erza Scarlet figured it would be better to go in a bigger group, considering how large the dark guild had grown. She suggested the mission, and Natsu and Gray were already interested. Lucy, Cana, and Juvia were more reluctant but Erza insisted. Laxus and Gajeel were roped in as well. And it was a typical mission at that, and it ended quickly thanks to their resilience. And stubbornness.

Laxus felt his appearance was odd, though; he only ever goes on missions with the Thunder God Tribe, but when he was summoned they insisted he went with them. Gajeel felt out of place as well considering he only either left for a job with his partner Lily or by himself.

But it was over, and everyone had their cheers.

Drunk and stumbling, half of the fairly large group made it back to their hotel rooms. Erza, Juvia and Lucy wanted to visit the night markets since they were still pretty sober. Gray and Natsu insisted on joining them but Erza demanded they went back to their hotel rooms, considering how drunk they clearly were.

"I don't care," Erza spoke up, "I really don't want to put up with another incident, and you two are drunker than normal so it'll only be worse. Get some rest back in your hotel room."

"That's not fuckin' fair, Erza," Gray slurred, using Natsu as support to stand. Natsu went to speak up, but he only started hiccuping. Happy, resting on his back, bounced up at the sudden movement, but quickly rested back as his eyelids couldn't stay open. Gajeel scoffed from behind the group. They couldn't hold their drinks very well.

"I'll be honest, I've never seen you this drunk, guys," Lucy commented with a more impressed yet disappointed tone. She sighed and agreed with Erza, "We'll get you guys a snack for the morning, how about that?"

Erza turned towards Laxus, "Take these two back, will you?"

"I don't have anything else to do." Laxus shrugged and motioned the two to follow him.

"I'm off to bed too," Cana placed her arms behind her. "I gotta wash down all the whiskey with somethin'. Man, if I go out now I might pass out on the ground."

She started walking. Laxus followed and so did Gray and Natsu. Eventually, Gajeel and Pantherlily walked behind them and the three girls made their way downtown. Refusing to stay behind the duo, Gajeel walked ahead and stood beside Laxus. Lily flew by his side

"Not going shopping with the girls?" The older slayer joked. Gajeel grinned.

"Yeah, even if I wanted to my wallet's completely empty at this point. Cana's flushed me out."

"Pfft. Rule number fucking one, Redfox."

"Whatever," Gajeel brushed his comment off, "Once we get paid I'll be fine."

There wasn't much conversation between the two after that, but to Lily, at least, it was more than usual. He noticed since the two were assigned a hotel together they'd gotten closer. Likely because they only had each other to talk to, but after the mission, they were even closer. When he looked up at Gajeel, Lily saw that he was frowning.

The mission was brutal, Pantherlily was sure none of them would forget it.

Back at the hotel, Natsu and Gray were sent back to their rooms. Laxus stood at their door to make sure they actually made it to their beds without an issue, and then made his way back to his own room.

"Hey Laxy"

"Don't call me that," Laxus cringed, turning to Cana as she stood by her own door. She was holding a wad of cash in her arm, outstretched towards him. He raised an eyebrow, hesitating to take it. "What's this for, now?" He asked. She rolled her eyes.

"It's for Gajeel, dumbass," She answered, "1000 jewel...for all those drinks. Guess I got carried away in that contest with Natsu and Gray, huh?"

"Uh, yeah, you fucking decimated them."

"Hah," She shrugged, "Had to give myself a victory drink, or a few, y'know how it is. G'night, genius." Cana mocked him again and closed the door to her room. Walking back to his room Laxus watched Pantherlily walk out.

"I'm gonna stay with Natsu and Gray." Lily informed him, "Gajeel said something about them doing this before and that they need my help."

Laxus only nodded, letting the exceed pass without question. Truly, it was odd; Neither of them had ever gotten that drunk, at least from what Laxus knew, and Gajeel wouldn't know much more either. It was suspicious, but Lily was already out of sight. Finally, Laxus entered his own hotel room to find Gajeel lying in bed already, clothes unchanged.

He felt something unsettling in the air.

Laxus caught himself staring and shut the door behind him. He began sifting through his clothes for pajamas he could sleep in and looked up at Gajeel. "You gonna shower?" He asked, but Gajeel didn't answer. Instead Laxus heard a quiet sigh. He felt his suspicions were correct and stood upright.

"Hey, Redfox, at least change your clothes if you're gonna go to bed-."

"Laxus."

Gajeel's sudden response almost made Laxus jump. He placed his own clothes on his bed and made his way towards Gajeel's. "...What?"

"..."

"...You fall asleep?"

"..."

He must have, though it wasn't too clear. "I'm getting in the shower," He announced.

"Wait."

Laxus stopped. This was weird, just what was he doing? Gajeel sat up, keeping his face away from the other and scratched his head. He rested his arms on his knees. It was clear Gajeel had something to say, at least something he didn't want Lily to hear.

"...why did you save me?"

His voice was tired, almost slurred, but Laxus could understand him. He was talking about the mission. He narrowed his eyebrows and crossed his arms.

"What do you mea-."

"Why the hell did you save me?"

He sounded choked up. Ah, shit, Laxus thought, relaxing his arms to his side. He'd never personally seen Gajeel like this, but he knew the mission was…

"You could've just let me go."

"Redfox-."

"You could have let me GO, Laxus. You'd've gone HOME by now."

"Hey-."

"I don't have to fucking be here! You could've let them take me! We'd have that fucking stupid necklace if it weren't for my-!"

"Gajeel."

"LAXUS." Gajeel stood, almost lunging for him. He realized how loud that was, and shut his mouth, biting down on his lip. Laxus' eyes went wide when he saw how red Gajeel's face was. Gajeel backed up, slamming a fist on the dresser beside his bed, "The fucking-we had it. You had it in your fucking hands, why the fuck would you...why would you do that!?"

Gajeel was nearly tearing out his own hair at this point, and Laxus sat down on the bed. Gajeel leaned against the dresser, wiping his face.

"I don't know what else I was supposed to do."

"Leave me?" Gajeel harshly suggested. Laxus shook his head.

"I wasn't gonna do that."

"One thing, Laxus. We came here for one thing. And it's gone. It's my own fucking fault that it's gone. You shouldn't have come back for me like that. We failed this fucking mission!"

"Failed? That guild is gone, Redfox. We ran them the hell out of this town."

"I KNOW that."

Gajeel bit at his lip again. "I just…" He clenched his teeth and swung himself around, agitated. Laxus leaned back against the bed, supporting himself up with his arms. There was a point of silence between the two. Gajeel had something to say though, and Laxus chose to let him say it. He exhaled, looking at everything else but Laxus.

Finally, he just looked down. "I don't know how to say it," he muttered.

Laxus stood up, stretching his back. He found himself pretty close to Gajeel, who turned his face away again. "I didn't expect this from you," he said. Gajeel didn't say anything. "But I wasn't gonna let them kill you. And I wasn't gonna let them win either. I know it's gone...Gajeel."

"What?" Gajeel's eyes were watering. Holy shit. This was a huge surprise for Laxus. He hardly knew Gajeel but he still didn't expect this from him. His emotions were spewing out all at once, and Laxus was the only one there to see it. Laxus relaxed. Gajeel trusted him. He had to say something. Something.

He took Gajeel's hands.

What am I doing? He thought to himself as Gajeel looked up at him, confused as well. Laxus looked aside, then back to him. He inhaled. "Gajeel," He spoke. The other's eyebrows narrowed. "I don't want to lose you."

"...Lose me?"

"They could have killed you."

"...I know that."

"Why would I want that?"

Gajeel's lips parted. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. "What do...you...mean?" He asked. Laxus tilted his head.

"Are we not friends?" He questioned. Gajeel's face burned, and he let out his breath when he realized he was holding it. Laxus continued, "Look, I'm...I'm sorry. I didn't know what else to do but I didn't...want to leave you with them. I don't want…I don't want to choose between you and some reward. But we didn't fail. They're gone. No one's hurting anyone anymore and you're not with them anymore. You're here, and you're safe, and right now that's all I care about."

Gajeel couldn't keep his eyes on Laxus, but Laxus bent down to his height. Their foreheads brushed against each other, they noticed, but they didn't say anything about it. The mood became less tense. Gajeel closed his eyes, listening to Laxus as he tried to calm him down.

"I don't know what it was like in Phantom Lord," he spoke under his breath, but continued, "But we don't leave anybody behind here. Right?"

"..."

"...That means you, too."

Gajeel opened his eyes. You, too. It hit hard. He sighed, somewhat relieved despite his clear guilt. He looked up at Laxus. They were really close to each other. He could feel warmth from the other. Gajeel tried to pull his hands free from Laxus, but he insisted. "I'm...I shouldn't be acting like this, you don't have to-."

He was stopped. His eyes went wide, but they quickly shut when his body was suddenly warmed up. Laxus' lips touched his. Gently, but it was enough for the two to melt into the kiss. Gajeel felt like he was melting; he almost fell out of Laxus' grip, but he was caught before he hit his head against the wall. That was when the two woke up. They stared at each other, burning. Not avoiding each other, however. They stared into each other's eyes.

Still being held up by Laxus, slowly, Gajeel wrapped his arms around the other's neck and pulled him in for another kiss. Deeper this time, sensually, they made out. Gajeel ran his hands through Laxus' hair, and arched when Laxus let his hands slip down to his lower back. They moaned, quietly. A small vase and a book was knocked over, but the two didn't seem to react, but when the book loudly hit the floor, the two froze.

They broke apart, Gajeel looked up at Laxus. What was he doing? He looked down to see what made the noise, and Laxus bent down th pick up the book and place it back on the dresser, where it once was. The older slayer grinned, "Shh," he whispered before pulling Gajeel to his bed. They sat beside each other, Laxus wrapped his arms around Gajeel's waist once again and began stroking his sides. Gajeel shivered, and Laxus rested his lips on the other's forehead.

"This is…" Gajeel spoke, but paused when he felt Laxus' gentle kisses run down from his forehead to his cheek.

"Yeah?"

"This is...okay?"

Laxus pulled away, looking down at Gajeel with concern, "What do you mean?"

"Man, I've...I don't know...Are we really gonna do this?" he whispered, "What if the other's find out?"

"We'll just have to do our best to keep it secret," Laxus responded, before chuckling, "Now, hush."

He kissed Gajeel's lips again, lifting him up and pushing him down on the mattress. Gajeel was underneath Laxus. He didn't protest, instead, he quietly moaned when Laxus began kissing his neck and pulling up his shirt. Topless, Gajeel wrapped his arms around Laxus' neck, pulling him back up for another kiss.

Laxus pulled away and sat up over Gajeel. They were panting; Gajeel wiped sweat from his brow and looked up at the other, begging him to come back down. He'd never felt this way about another person, and he certainly didn't expect that person to be Laxus. The feeling was weird, but he placed it in the back of his mind when Laxus unbuttoned and removed his shirt. Gajeel found himself staring down his abdomen, his heart racing. Laxus reached for Gajeel's pants, removing the belt and dropping it on the floor with his shirt. Gajeel bit his lips when he felt his pants being pulled down to his knees.

"Happy to see me?" Laxus teased, pointing out Gajeel's hardened member.

"I don't think I can get enough of you."

Laxus pulled down his own pants to show off his own cock, hard as well. He adjusted Gajeel, pulling off his pants and lifting his legs, holding Gajeel against him. He freed one of his hands and placed his cock over Gajeel's entrance. Holding onto the other's legs again, Laxus slowly began pushing himself inside.

"Ah-hah-!"

"Shhh," Laxus reminded him.

"F-fuck...I'm…"

"I know, sorry," Laxus caressed Gajeel's face, "It'll stop hurting, I promise."

Once he was halfway inside of Gajeel, Laxus started to thrust, not pushing all the way so as to not hurt Gajeel. He looked up to see the other dragon slayer had arched his back again, holding onto the bed sheets and panting. The room was burning hot. When Laxus began thrusting faster Gajeel covered his mouth to stop himself from making too much noise. His swears were muffled under his hand, and Laxus kept going, deeper, leaning down and kissing Gajeel to keep him quiet.

Laxus pulled down on Gajeel's hair, kissing him and thrusting in and out of him. Gajeel was trembling below the slayer, and even more so when he felt his own cock being stroked. He groaned when the sudden pleasure made his whole body shiver, unable to speak while his mouth was occupied by Laxus'.

But he stopped thrusting, sitting up and pulling Gajeel up with him. Gajeel hugged Laxus, scratching up his back as he tried to hold on. He felt his waist being lifted up and down, taking Laxus' member whole. Gajeel's lips quivered and his eyes watered, "L-Laxus...Laxus…"

"Shhh, Gajeel."

"I...Fuck-I'm gonna…"

"I've got you, just keep quiet," Laxus held Gajeel tighter, and Gajeel started biting down, breaking skin as he felt himself about to cum. Laxus moaned as Gajeel's bites sent shivers down his spine. He kissed and sucked Gajeel's neck and ear in return, fucking him faster until Gajeel could release.

He did, simultaneous with Laxus. Gajeel could feel his abdomen become covered with cum, and he felt Laxus release inside of him. He was shaking. Laxus pulled Gajeel's head up to find him drooling, his face completely reddened. They felt pleasure throughout their bodies, but it seemed Gajeel wasn't able to handle it as well.

"Fuck...I...hah-Laxus…"

"Hmm?" Laxus kissed his cheek again, pulling the other off and freeing his own member, "Wanna shower?"

"I c-can't...I-uh…"

Laxus chuckled, "In the morning?"

Gajeel's eyes drooped, and he nodded. Laxus rested Gajeel back again. He pulled the blanket from underneath him and wrapped him inside. He stood up to stretch, watching Gajeel fall asleep. He hears something outside the hotel room. Giggling. Gajeel peered out from the blanket to listen.

It was just the girls, returning from their night out. No one seems to have heard them, not even Natsu or Gray, though they were pretty drunk, and so was Cana. Laxus doubted either of the exceeds could have heard them. The girls passed their room and the conversation grew distant. Eventually, Laxus just heard the door shut.

"Stay."

"What?" Laxus looked back at Gajeel. He hadn't fallen asleep yet, instead, he was looking right at him.

"Stay here."

...Laxus nodded, taking space on the other side of Gajeel's bed. He spooned Gajeel, kissing his forehead and breathing warmth down his neck, "Alright," he whispered. They both fell asleep, assured that they were truly alone together.
