Ari Haswari entered quietly into Kate's apartment, seeing the lights off and he went to her bedroom, watching the agent sleeping peacefully after another hectic day at NCIS.

He sat down on the edge of the bed carefully, thanks to his training, and then raised a tanned hand to her face, brushing away a strand of hair stuck there gently, feeling the softness of her skin and her scent, making him calm down a bit. He didn't want to admit that his eyes were burning.

"I'm so sorry Caitlin... I don't know how to get you out of this." He said, because things would change, his revenge for Gibbs, the man who resembled his father was consuming him, and was threatening what he felt for her.

If he stayed, he would end up hurting her, or killing Gibbs or, with Ari and Kate confronting each other, and the idea of killing Kate made him sick.

He had been lying to her when he had said that his loyalty was to the Mossad, that he was a mole in the Hamas, but hh had never lied about his love for her, Caitlin was the only woman he had ever fallen in love with, the woman who could always see something more, something good in people.

He leaned down, placing a kiss on her forehead and he saw her hazel eyes open as her hand went under the pillow where her weapon was. But then she realized it was Ari, and her eyes softened.

"Ari... I thought you were in a mission." She murmured, sitting on the bed and then she smiled, stroking his face, feeling his beard.

She had never imagined embarking on a relationship with Ari Haswari, enemy of her boss, but a Mossad agent in disguised, but she felt safe with him, his brown eyes always showed her that.

"I'll be leaving soon, I just wanted to see you Caitlin..." He said, closing his eyes at her touch and muttering some words in Hebrew.

Kate then touched her lips to his kissing him slowly and Ari corresponded, bringing his other hand to her waist to get her closer to him as he parted her lips with his tongue, deepening the kiss.

Both breathless, Ari lowered his lips to the side of Kate's neck, laying kisses there, feeling her taste and Kate sighed, bringing her hands to his short hair, caressing him.

"I have to go..." He murmured on her skin, before lifting his face to face her and she nodded, placing a kiss on his lips one last time. "I love you, my love."

"I love you too..."

And Ari walked away, leaving a Star of David necklace on the table that had been his, with her name on a piece of paper and even knowing that she was Catholic, he knew that Kate would carry it with her.

He stepped out of her apartment and stared at her door one last time, taking a deep breath and squeezing the picture of her that he had taken from her album, which was in his pocket now and he would always carry with him.

He wouldn't cry, he'd been trained for it, no matter how much he wanted to, after that night, he'd be gone, and Caitlin would never see him again.
