-Third pov-
Marissa Striker with long strawberry blonde hair that went up to her chest, she groaned and slumped down in the front seat of her mom's little bit rusty deep red corvette, rolling her one sapphire blue eye and the other green eye at the thought of moving. She had just turned 16, 6 days ago and could believe she was moving. This move was forced upon her. This just had to happen. To her of all people! She was leaving her old life and friends behind to a new one that she didn't even want to happen. But because of her father's recent death her mother took it upon herself to move them. She fiddled with the crystal necklace on her neck from the boredom she was endearing
She and her mom were moving away from New York state to Jasper, Nevada. Her dad had died in the military a few months ago before she had turned 16. The man had brought her mother the flag and broke her heart and her mother's heart with the devastating news. Her mother straight after accepted a better job as a Doctor in Jasper, to help them along in life with Marissa's mom being a single parent and all. Oh, how she wished this was only a dream.
"Tell me again why we are freakin moving again, mom!" She said in a bitter tone.
"Because sweety, I got a job with a better pay to help us by." Said her mom (Miranda Striker) who was driving, she had the same blonde hair as Marissa, but with green eyes instead of blue. She got her sapphire blue eyes from her father which was just another reminder to her mother.
"Did it have to be out in the middle of nowhere?" She sighed.
"I know you don't like the move honey, but we needed the money my last job barely paid me enough to survive. I was lucky I even got this thing at the junkyard with how much I was paid. But now with this job, I accepted, will help us get along. And it has better pay sweetheart so more video games." Her mom said in an upset tone. Though she really was trying her best with the hand handed her.
"You could have found another job that somewhere near home mom!" She exclaimed then turned her head to look out the window.
"Mari, we already discussed this and what's final is final ok?"
"Fine mom you win." Marissa muttered.
"Besides it's a small town like ours, it's a perfect opportunity to start a new life and explore together honey. Maybe you'll make new friends in your new school and throughout the area hmmm." She said, while glancing at her for a minute with a smile. Mari sighs deeply and turned back around to look at her mom in her eyes. She sat straight in the front seat, smiling the best false smile she could muster, and said, "Ok mom, I'll give it a go." She stared back up at her still smiling, "Only for you." She laughs.
She shoved her playfully and laughs with her. "That's my daughter, now how about we kick it with some tunes hmmm." She turned on the radio and marissa shrugged, "Sure."
The song playing was in my daughter's eyes. One of my favorite songs.
In my daughter's eyes
I am a hero
I am strong and wise
And I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I want to be
In my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes
Everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light
And the world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me
Gives me strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes
And when she wraps her hand around my finger
How it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about
It's hanging on when your heart is had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes
I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
And though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you'll see
How happy she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes
"This is gonna be a real long drive I just know it." Marissa grumbled to herself.
-A few hours later Marissa's P.O.V-
All I wanted was to slam my fist through the car door even when I was younger my mother had always smiled her and dad always talking about the future. I bet if he knew what future we would've had, he wouldn't have left. The pain in my heart was still raw and cold like something was just waiting to rip me away from this world anything.
We came to a stop so I quickly got out and grabbed my stuff I had packed in the back and ran into my new home and all the way to my empty room.
Our house was a two story home which wasn't so bad it had a cute red roof and brick walls obviously older than our old apartment building and my room was way larger than my old one it even had a balcony. It kinda gave me hope something good would come out of this miserable move.
I set my boxes and suitcases down to look outside I could see the blue and white moving truck arrive which gave me hope for my bed I could finally be able to sleep in my nice comfy bed no problems just a lazy day to relax.
I was quickly brought out of my thoughts from my mother shouting.
"Mari, can you come down here?!" My mother called I half wondered if I was in trouble I groined slightly before shouting. "Coming!" I rushed down the stairs and into the front yard and behold there was a teenage boy about my age in a plane looking outfit jeans a plain looking shirt plain looking black hair he sorta just screamed ordinary.
His mother looked a little like him as well so it was quite obvious they were related and well a mother seemed most likely.
"Come meet our neighbors, Marissa. This is Jack and June Darby." My mother gestured to them and I saw no harm in meeting them so I rushed over standing next to my mother in the yard.
"Nice to meet you, Jackster." I smirked at the nickname I gave the guy in front of me he seemed a little irritated by the nickname but it only made me want to use it more.
"You too," said Jack, trying to be polite. "Our mom's are gonna be working in the same hospital. My mom's a nurse there."
"Really? Interesting," I said it was a little sarcastic but I didn't really mind Jack as much as I thought I would.
"And, get this, Mari, the school I enrolled you in is the same one Jack currently goes to," mom happily told me. "So he could help you adjust."
"That sounds like a great idea," said June.
"Sweet," said Jack, trying to hide his sarcasm.
"Oh, Jack, don't you have to go to work?" June asked.
"Right. KO Burger," Jack said, almost sounding relieved. "Too bad I can't stay and hang out."
"Marissa, I'm gonna be a while with the movers, telling them where everything goes and all that. Why don't you go get some lunch?" Mom asked me. I wasn't sure what I should say honestly but her eyes were begging me to do it.
"Fine hey, Jackster do you care if I come with you." I asked him which made the situation go from bad to worse because the boy in question didn't seem to thrilled about it in the least.
"Nope. Let's go," said Jack. And then we started walking away to his job.
-Third pov-
Well Jack and Marissa walked to Jack's work Marissa and him chatted trying their best to make the best out of a bad situation in fact once they began to chat they actually started to get know each other a little better Marissa liked country and josie or japanese songs in English pop and rock. Jack got her to laugh when he mentioned he fooled around on the harmonica. Once they arrived, Jack punched in and Marissa went to order some lunch.
"Hi. Welcome to KO Burger. What'll you have today?" the employee said in a friendly way. Marissa ordered a burger and fries with soda. After she got her order she took it to the table and eat her lunch while she waited for Jack to get done with his job.
"Welcome to K.O drive in, where every patty is a knockout. May I take your order?" Jack said to a driver.
"Two super combos, extra fries," said the guy on the intercom.
"Okay. Dos numero twos," said Jack. "Anything else?"
"Yeah. Some advice. How do I get an awesome job like yours?" the driver replied, making his friends laugh.
Jack glared while preparing the orders. "So that's two, 'we're not as funny as we think we are' combos, with a side of 'bite me'. Coming up."
"What'd you say?!" the guy angrily asked.
"Pick up at the window," said Jack. He put the food on the window sill and turned around. Unfortunately, the driver grabbed the food and sped off. "Hey! I have to pay for that!"
-Jack's p.o.v
I sighed trying my best not to get mad but right now I was with the one girl who obviously never wanted to be here. And it didn't help that some jerks not only made fun of me, but took off without paying. There goes part of my paycheck.
"Everything okay, Jackster?" Marissa asked from her table, using the nickname she knew I didn't like.
I sighed in annoyance and said, "A couple of jerks just took off without paying. That's gonna come out of my pay. You want me to walk you home after my shift?"
Marissa pulled out her wallet walked over to me and handed me the money. "Here. Is this enough."
"That's right," I said, after counting it out. "Thanks."
"Look I may not like moving here but I still wanna be friends." Marissa smiled at me. I may have misjudged her.
"I'd like that too," I replied in a friendly way. "I'm gonna clock out."
"Ok I'll wait here while you do that." Marissa smiled happily at me it was kinda pleasant to see her like this. She went back and sat down.
After I clocked out, I went to rejoin her. As we were leaving, I decided to call my mom and let her know we're coming home.
"Hey, mom, I'm on my way home and I'm walking Marissa. She decided to hangout at K.O. and she's bringing something for her mom," I told her. And then my eyes landed on the most beautiful motorcycle I had ever seen. "I love you."
That was when I realized I was still on the phone and quickly told mom I loved her before ending the call. And then I walked over to the purple, pink, and black motorcycle. I put my hand on the bike admiring the craftsmanship before getting onto it Marissa followed suit.
"Man, Jackster, this thing is awesome. Imagine us riding away on this thing." I could see the smile on her lips with the bikes mirror apparently she liked this thing it made me wonder if I could attract other girls with a bike like this.
"It may take a few K.O. paychecks, but, someday, I am gonna own a ride like this one," I told Marissa.
"I should ask my mom to buy me a ride like this after her next two paychecks." Marissa smirked she looked like she was imagining owning it.
"That would be cool," I said, smiling. As we talked, I thought I saw the side mirror moving out of the corner of my eye. It probably was nothing through.
"Are you talking to your motorcycle?" Another female voice asked Marissa and I looked toward the girl in question she had red hair a an cute look. Oh god it was Sierra the girl I had a crush on all this year.
"No. No I wasn't talking to….. My motorcycle…. Because it is mine…. But I wasn't talking to it…. I was talking to…. Marissa," I said nervously. "How's it going, Sierra?"
"Do I know you?" Sierra asked.
"We're in home room together. I'm Jack. Jack Darby," I answered, hoping she would remember.
"Isn't he cute when he's embarrassed." Marissa asked her I could feel my cheeks redin. I could feel Marissa put her hands around me like a girlfriend would.
"Oh. Are you his girlfriend?" Sierra asked, laughing a little.
I could feel my face turn ever redder. "My… my girlfriend? It…. Well…. You see…."
"No but I'm certainly interested." Marissa sweetly told her. What the heck was wrong with her?
"Oh….hum hey Jack was it would you by chance want to go on a date sometime?" Sierra asked me my eyes widened in shock what the heck just happened.
Unfortunately, before I could answer, two pairs of headlights shined on us and two cars came barreling our way. Sierra and her friend ran away screaming. I was about to reach behind me to grab Marissa and follow suit, but that was when the weirdest thing happened. The motorcycle roared to life doing a wheelie as it took off.
"Hang on! Both of you!" a woman's voice.
Both of us screamed as the bike took off.
-Third pov-
"Who said that?" Jack screamed looking very panicked. Then the bike turned to a corner into an abandoned alleyway.
Jack got off the bike feeling a little scared by the situation Marissa looked just as freaked. "What are you?"
"As far as you and your sparkmate are concerned, I don't exist. So forget you saw me," said the motorcycle.
"We're not whatever that is first of all and second of all I only said that to get that girl to like him!" Marissa shouted angrily.
"Not the time or place!" Jack grabbed Marissa's hand running in the opposite direction as Arcee drove they continue to run through the alleyway, while a purple car chased after them. They looked back at it, becoming tense, and quickly picked up there speed the best they could.
"I don't even know her!" Jack screamed at the car. Marissa half wondered if they even understood them.
Just in the nick of time, Arcee arrived and shouted, "Get on!"
Both of them got onto the bike and it jetred off Marissa took a deep breath. "So uh my names marissa what's yours?"
"Acree." She said proudly, our friendly hello to one another was cut short when we saw that the cars were still chasing us, (fuck!) and began to shoot at us with lasers from their guns on the side of them. They held on tight, when the motorcycle speed up riding on the motorway.
"Why are those guys shooting at us?" Jack frantically asked. Marissa had the same thought too.
"There no us kid, and they aren't guys." She flatly answered. 'Then what the hell were they?' Marissa questioned in her mind.
As the robot cars were getting closer to us, a yellow Camaro with black strips came and smack them out of the way.
"Friend?" Marissa asked looking back.
"Family." Acree replied. 'Awww, it must be nice to have family help back you up.' Marissa thought with a gentle smile.
That When one of them went onto another lane and sped past him. 'Oh, fuck he didn't!' Marissa panicked in her head. The car smashed into the other one and sent him spinning in circles. 'Serves him right for it, and thank god no one is hurt, since the motorway is cleared.' Marissa sighed a breath of relief.
Jack began screaming. Marissa gave him a look that said. 'not helping' only for her to see they were coming to a gap in the side of the motorway where it was destroyed. Marissa held on tight to Jack's waist, as Acree flew over it and drove down the hill. 'What a rush that was.' Marissa mentally thought.
Jack and Marissa looked up to see a younger boy with glasses looking at them.
"Whoa," he said.
"You have no fuckin clue how right you are." Marissa said getting off the motorcycle with Jack.
The boy came up to them just as quickly running straight, just as the two vehicles came down the hill, transforming in mid-air. That was when the motorcycle transformed as well, only she looked more like a woman.
She looked determinedly at the robots and said, "This ends here, cons!"
She ran up to one and jumped kicking him so hard it like straight out of a movie. 'You rock!' Marissa thought. Arcee dodged a shot from the second one and kicked him in the face causing a clunk and small sparks with the strike.
"What are they?" The boy asked.
"Talking cars that turn into robots." Jack said.
"Or the other way around." Marissa said, still watching the battle right in front of them. Acree continued to kick and punch them. They started shooting at her as she flipped backwards. After a moment one of their shots hit her dead on. in the chest and she flew back. Marissa gasped her hands covered mouth, and she shook her head back and forth mumbling oh no over and over again. The two males by her stood there with wide eyes. Just when all hope was lost the yellow Camaro showed up to the rescue, transformed, and punched the nearest bot right in the jaw. 'you go bot!' Marissa Mentally cheered. By now Acree was trying to stand up, holding her head and groaning.
When the yellow robot had managed to push one of the bad guys into the floor he stepped back, only to managed to smash the boy's toy car with his foot in the process.
"I'm sorry." He said. Amazingly Marissa understood him she could understand him. 'Weird.' Marissa thought, 'But how?' The boy must of understood him too, because he said that it was no problem at all.
I notice Jack didn't seem to understand him on what he said. My train of thought halted when I heard and saw gun shot off and shot him in the chest making him soar backwards.
He tried to get up, but the other bot stood on his head, pinning him. 'No fair.' Marissa thought in her mind. Then lifted his foot up and the poor bot turned around to have two blasters charging up aiming at him. 'Fuck off, you creeps.' Marissa mentally thought.
Marissa got an idea just then she pulled out her gun and shot the bot on the ground. It twisted its arm at her in that moment. Arcee quickly grabbed her and rolled out of the way of the blast.
"You all need to get out of here! We don't want you getting involved!" She said.
"Way too late for that!" Marissa shouted as she was let down Bee was shot sending him back into the ground Marissa ran over to the two and pulled them into the sewer pipe.
Bumblebee beeped something before going back to the fight.
"What was that?" the younger boy asked.
"No clue. And I'm not sticking around to find out," said Jack. "Come on, we gotta go."
They ran deeper into the pipe hoping to find there way out on the other end.
-at Jack and Marissa's homes-
After dropping off the younger boy, whose name was Raf, Jack and Marissa went straight home to their moms.
"Okay. That was freaky," said Jack.
"Oh I got a picture while we were there. Look." Marissa said holding out her phone.
Jack looked surprised. "Mari, you can't let anyone see that. This never happened."
"Jack, do you honestly think saying it never happened will make those robots not look for us?" Marissa countered.
"You heard that Arcee lady, it's not our fight. She clearly doesn't want us involved," Jack argued.
"Maybe not yours but it's mine now. I'm going through my dads things and I'm gonna find something effective against those robots." Marissa eagerly said walking into her home.
"Wait! Marissa!" Jack called, making her stop. He smiled and said, "Despite almost dying, I had a great day. I hope we can be friends."
"Jackster, we already are." Marissa punched him in his arm playfully.
"See you at school," he said before leaving.
"See ya." said Marissa before going inside. She was greeted by her mother setting up a picture on the fireplace.
"Oh hi, honey. What do think of this spot?" She asked.
Marissa walked over and saw that it was a picture of her father in his military uniform. On either side was an unlit candle; Miranda hadn't lit them yet. Marissa smiled at her.
"I think it's perfect," she said. She was still wished her father was here but unfortunately that wouldn't happen ever again.
-The next day-
(Marissa's pov)
The school bell rang as I exited out of the building. Jack was behind me going down the steps of the school. I saw Miko sitting on a half wall drawing away in her notebook, me and her had met in class and we pretty much got off so I decided to greet the girl.
"Hi, Miko," I called out.
"Mari!" She shouted and pounced on me landing on the hard ground. Ow!
"How have you been?" She said as we got back up from the ground. I rubbed my head and smiled at the over chipper girl.
I saw Jack walking away from the school talking to Raf when a familiar Camaro pulled up by the two boys.
"Great! Now sorry miss awesome I have to go, its urgent business, Miks." I said running up to the passenger's seat as the door closed behind me.
"Hi I'm Marissa. Friends call me Mari." I cheerfully told him.
"Nice to meet you too, my name is Bumblebee." 'Cute name matches him perfectly with his colors and all.' I thought, " and I have been ordered to take you to our base and meet our leader Optimus Prime," he replied. I nodded in understanding, and thought, 'Who's Optimus Prime?'
Bumblebee took off to the base. I looked back and saw Jack in the middle of the road. I wondered how he was supposed to come along. Bumblebee seemed to pick up on it.
"Don't worry, Arcee's bringing him. Though he may need convincing," Bumblebee told me.
Mentally I understood Jack was hard headed. And while I liked Jack as a friend I personally thought he could be more willing. Next thing we know, Arcee is following us close behind. With her was Jack and, to my surprise, Miko.
The dust was easily falling behind them and as we drove we came to a cliff I could feel fear rising in my chest as we sped ahead for a moment I thought we were gonna crash only for it open and reveal a base inside.
It was huge and full of computers and other equipment. Greeting us were two other robots. One was white with a red striped pattern, and the other was bulking and .
I got out with Raf and I already got a dirty look from the striped red one I really hated that bot. He reminded me of a grumpy ex of mine. Except that one didn't care for me in fact that ex actually hurt me pretty bad but I broke it off before it got worse.
"I thought you said there were three," said the red and white bot.
"Didn't you hear? Humans multiply," Arcee said, a little annoyed.
"Mari, this is so awesome! We're in a hidden base with giant robots!" Miko cheered. And then she ran over to the green one. "Man, you're big! What's your name?"
"Bulkhead," he said. "The guy with the attitude is Ratchet. Motorcycle's Arcee and the yellow guy's Bumblebee."
"I'm Miko. I'm a friend of Mari," said Miko. "What do you turn into? I bet you're a truck. A big monster truck! Do you like heavy metal? Do you ever use a wrecking ball like a punching bag?!"
Raf stepped forward and asked, "So, if you guys are robots, who made you?"
"Puh-lease," Ratchet scoffed.
"What's your Fucken problem? He just asked a frickin question." I angrily told him. I really hated guys like him treating them like they should know better.
"He assumed we were made by someone," Ratchet answered, looking little offended. "Well, we weren't made by anyone. We were, how do you say it in Earth terms? Born."
Right on cue, a red and blue bot came in and told them, "We are autonomous robotic organisms from the planet Cybertron. Also known as Autobots. My name is Optimus Prime."
"Why are you here?" Jack asked.
"To protect your planet from the Decepticons," Optimus answered.
"Those jokers who tried to bump us off yesterday," Arcee clarified.
"Okay. So why are they here?" Jack asked.
"A fair question, Jack," Optimus said. "In part they are here because our planet is uninhabitable. Ravaged by centuries of civil war."
"Why were you fighting?" Raf asked.
"And what the hell do they want with our planet anyways no offense there's not much here." I said in a calm tone. She fiddled with her glowing crystal necklace.
"Mainly, for control of our world's supply of energon, the life blood of Autobots and Decepticons alike," Optimus answered.
Ratchet noticed my necklace and looked at it closely. His optics went wide.
"That's an energon crystal!" He cried out, pointing at my necklace. "It's small, but I know it anywhere. Where did you get that?"
Marissa tilted her head at that. "My father gave it to me." I coldly told me I glared at him. "Why is it any of your business anyway."
"Marissa, you're wearing cybertronian fuel and life-blood," Arcee told me. "I'm surprised the cons haven't come after you or your family yet."
"I'm one person I doubt they'd come after one little crystal. Kinda stupid. Not the point right now don't you think." I coldly said humphing.
"You need to give it to us it's not safe-" ratchet started before i glared angrily at him and shouted.
"No! No I'm not giving you anything. This is mine."
"You must be kidding it's just a necklace honestly you humans are so fragen dumb to put yourself in danger." I kicked him with with her foot.
"Your such an asshole!" I angrily told him stomping my foot.
"Why you little-" Ratchet angrily said, but was interrupted by Optimus.
"Be respectful, Ratchet. It is a gift from her father," he said.
"Can't her father just give her another necklace?" Bulkhead asked.
"How can a dead man give me another gift!" I shouted angrily her tears fell down her cheeks.
"Oh. I'm sorry for your loss," said Ratchet, now feeling bad.
I wiped away her tears and just nodded unhappily. Ratchet knelt down and told her.
"I'm…. Sorry for being insensitive," he said.
"It doesn't matter at this point. We're in danger that's the problem." I told him in a gentle tone.
"Are we?" Jack asked in concern.
Optimus looked concerned as he explained, "Unfortunately, yes. You see, the Decepticon leader, Megatron, though he has been absent for some time, could return. And if his return is eminent, I fear anyone perceived as our ally could be in grave danger. And because you all know of us, that puts you in danger. We brought you here to protect you."
Suddenly, a siren went off. The kids were concerned and Bumblebee beeped.
"Proximity sensor," Raf translated.
"Yeah I heard him. Strange."I said in a simple tone.
"Decepticon?" Jack asked.
Ratchet turned on the monitor and saw a military chopper coming their way. "It's agent Fowler."
"Is that good or bad?" I gave him a nervous look.
"He might not like that human kids are here," said Bulkhead.
"Agreed. He may be our designated liaison, but he is also a military man," said Optimus. "If he were to see human children like you here, he would like be angered. I think it's best you don't meet yet."
"Got it hide." I said grabbing Miko's hand and pulling her to the nearest hiding spot. The boys followed close behind. The boys and me decided on a closet close to the main area and an easy place to spy.
The elevator opened and an African-American man walked out with an angry look on his .
Seven wrecks, thirty four fender benders, a three hour traffic jam, and a particular note, numerous reports of a speeding motorcycle, of an unknown make, and a black and yellow custom muscle car." The agent said, clearly he was really pissed off about last night.
Jack had his head poked out for a few seconds before pulling back and giving us a confused looks. We continued to listen in on the conversion. From the sound of it, he was stressed and angry.
"So, anything you care to get off your tin chest, Prime?" Damn, back off that is hurtful dude so very hurtful. I or someone needs to teach this agent some manners, respect, and a lesson I kinda wanna kick his ass.
"We have the situation under control Agent Fowler." Optimus assured him.
"They're back aren't they?"
"If you are referring to the Decepticons, I have doubts that the ever left. Your planet is much too valuable." Prime said.
"Then, it's time to wake up the Pentagon." Agent Fowler said firmly. God damn, I was about this close to kicking this guy ass. Fuck why couldn't I just get closer.
"Hear me, Agent Fowler, we are your best, possibly you're only, defense against the Decepticon threat." You go Optimus; tell the mother fuckin off and show him whos rhe boss.
"Says you." Fowler retorted. I am really tired of the fuckin guy. I was about to march out to him to give a piece of my mind, but Jackster held me back. I turned to look at him giving him a questioning stare, but he shook his head no at me. I sigh to myself to cool my temper down.
"Hey, fleshy, did anyone get splattered on that freeway?" Bulkhead started. He then picked up this strange machine….probably alien in origin.
"Team Prime knows when to use force." He started squeezing the device he was holding. "And how much to use." He put too much pressure onto it and the machine broke, giving off blue sparks. Damn, he got a good grip there.
"Bulkhead! I needed that!" Ratchet shouted in annoyance.
"Enough!" Optimus barked, silencing the bots. And then he addressed agent Fowler. "Military involvement could result in catastrophe. Perhaps you can condone wide spread human casualties, agent Fowler. I, on the other hand, cannot."
"Then do us both a favor, Prime, and handle this under the radar," said Agent Fowler. He then walked back to the elevator and pressed a button. Just before the door closed, he told Optimus, "Or I will."
The elevator closed and Agent Fowler left. As soon as he was gone, Bulkhead voiced his thoughts.
"Pretty big bearings…. For a human," he remarked.
"He is concerned for the safety of his world, Bulkhead. As should we all," Optimus reminded him.
"Still an asshole." I remarked coming out of the closet. "I mean even I can figure out military against giant aliens metal beings isn't gonna end well."
My comment was true. It wasn't gonna end well. Those robots would obliterate the military. I could even imagine guns blazing planes being shot down and many lives being lost because of such a stupid move. I felt a glare pairing down at me from guess who, Mr. Grumpy Pants himself, Ratchet. Do bots even wear pants? Nah.
"You got that right, Mari!" Miko said giving me a highfive a few seemed to agree but were silenced by the two main bots Ratchet and Prime.
"That is the reason why the military must leave the Decepticons to us Autobots," said Optimus.
Suddenly, the monitor started beeping. Ratchet walked over to see what it was. What he found made almost no sense to him or the others.
"Blasted Earth tech!" Ratchet groaned. "Cliffjumper's life signal is back online."
"Who's Cliffjumper?" Miko asked.
"And what do you mean his life signal came back online." Marissa asked crossing her arms.
"Cliffjumper was an Autobot who was killed in battle recently," Optimus answered. "He was partnered with Arcee. But his life signal shouldn't be online."
"Oh…. I'm sorry but if it's online doesn't that mean he's alive." Marissa asked with a smile.
"Theoretically," said Ratchet. "But I saw his spark go offline myself when tracking him. It's impossible. This Earth tech is malfunctioning."
Arcee stood forward and said, "Optimus, if there's even the slightest chance Cliff's still alive, we have to help him." she sounded worried.
"Ratchet, prepare sickbay. We may need it." He ordered. Ratchet nodded.
"Hey!" Miko shouted, just as they were about to head off. I glance at her on what she was going to say. Optimus was looking at her. He had his face mask on.
"What can we do?"
"Remain with Ratchet." Optimus answered.
"Awww." Miko pouted.
"Awh." Ratchet grumbled. Gosh, Mr. Sour Puss indeed.
The tunnel on the side of the wall then lighted up from light green to dark blue with white at the end lights. It looks very beautiful to me.
"Autobots, roll out!" Optimus shouted, transforming. The four also transformed and they drove into the light and disappeared. We just stood there on the platform, dumbstruck. But I had snuck over there and through the portal with them while they weren't paying attention she followed them.
-Third pov energon mine.
The portal took them to some kind of underground cavern or mine. They transformed into their regular forms and started looking around.
"Autobots, stay alert," said Optimus. Marissa followed behind happy to see the place.
Bulkhead looked around at the crystals and realized where they were. "Energon mine."
"Judging by it's scale, the Decepticons have been tunneling here for quite some time,"
"Nah really you don't say." Marissa's voice said all the autobots looked down and saw the girl in question.
"You've gotta be kidding me! What about the phrase 'stay put' don't you understand!?" Arcee shouted angrily Marissa rubbed her neck.
"Look I just really wanted to help." Marissa pulled up her duffle bag. "Besides I'm small and quiet. Great at getting into small places."
Arcee groaned at the girl. And then Optimus spoke to her. "It's dangerous here. Should the Decepticons find you, they will not hesitate to harm you, maybe even kill you. I'm sorry, Marissa, but I cannot condone unnecessary casualties."
"I'll be fine no worries." Marissa ran off causing Arcee to smack herself.
"She just ran off." Arcee said it was slightly unpredictable; frag the girl was the definition of that.
The team ran into the area trying their best to be quiet and went to search for Marissa.
Marissa saw the jewels around the area it was quite surprising to her so she decided to gather some and made sure none of the other bots saw her as she did so. She snuck in hiding behind areas that were shadowed by darkness and stole the glowing crystals that were big but small enough to fit in her bag.
"I have a visual," said Bulkhead he noticed her grabimg some. "She's collecting energon."
"Seriously? How much does she think she can get out?" Arcee asked in surprise and annoyance.
"Well it's a pretty big bag." Bulkhead commented watching the girl run off again.
He noticed the cons walking into the area.
"Scrap," Bumblebee beeped.
The Autobots finally came out of hiding and pointed their firearms at the cons. The cons panicked and fired at them, only for the bots to fire back, or smash in Bulkhead's case.
Marissa got an idea she hid behind looking at her dad's experimental military made gun. She pointed at the the robot firing and thought in a begging tone. 'Please work please work!'
She shot off the gun a hot laser like plazma burst shot one of them and melted through the cons helm. "Yes."
The bots looked confused at her. "What is that?" Arcee asked when she came running over to them.
"Something my father got from the military. It was invented in Griffin Rock supposedly." Marissa explained ducking her head she was shouting because of how loud it was with all the shoots and all the bots who were using the box as cover.
The bots continued attacking the cons. Bulkhead kept using his hammer while Optimus and the rest relied on their blasters.
"I hope Ratchet and the other kids are doing better than us," said Bumblebee.
Marissa couldn't help but agree on that one she got to the side of the box and shot one in the anke allowing bee to shot its head off. "Nice bee!"
Bumblebee gave her a thumbs up and said, "Thanks."
Them a black gray being came down and landed while Arcee road off obviously spotting something. "Uh who is that?"
The being who transformed stared at them. "Well well if it isn't Optimus oh and you brought a pet with a cute little collar."
Marissa glared at him; she was wearing a cat color, but because it was cute to her and went well with her necklace. "I'm not a pet a hole!"
"Leave her be, Starscream!" Optimus shouted. "This does not involve her!"
Marissa a was about ten seconds from going ballistic at this Starscream.
"Well, Prime, as much as I'd love to play with her I'm a bit squamish." He pulled out what looked like a bomb and that was when Marissa shoot him. Causing him to recoil in pain and drop it before he could press it.
"Take that you high heeled dorito!" Marissa angrily shouted well bee picked her up. Starscream looked at his hand which now had a hole in it. He shook with anger.
"You little vermin!" the Decepticon commander shouted before turning his other arm into a weapon form to fire at her
Marissa aimed her device at the ground at the grande like device. "Hey what happens with energon and explosions?"
Starscream glared at her. "Don't you dare!"
"Tempt me…. I will shoot and I'm assuming it won't be pretty when shooting it, sets it off. You'll have maybe a few seconds while we're far enough away to get away before it goes off." Marissa smirked evilly.
Starscream could see she was serious especially after she litterly shot it and a beeping sound rang out. "Decepticons, drop the energon and retreat! This mine will explode!"
The cons immediately did as they were told and evacuated the mine. During the scatter, Arcee had dropped something that could have been an Autobot and fell.
Bee put her down as the cons scattered leaving the cave alone. Once all of them were gone she put away her gun. "So how much energon do you think you can get before setting the mine to explode? Because when I shot at it I may have missed on purpose. And I may have used my phone to make beeping sounds."
The Autobots looked surprised at her. "I'd say plenty with the equipment the cons left," Optimus answered. "Ratchet, have the ground bridge ready."
-With Ratchet -
Marissa, Optimus, Bee, Bulkhead, and Arcee came through the bridge all of them carrying a large load of energon well all except arcee who was feeling pretty weak. "Hey, Ratchet, guess what we got? Also close the bridge quickly because an explosion will be happening in a few minutes."
Ratchet immediately closed the bridge and went to look at the supply.
"How did you ever manage to gather so much energon?!" Ratchet asked in amazement. And then he noticed how many bots were there. "And where's Cliffjumper?"
"Yeah. I thought you were going to save him," said Jack.
"First off I scared off Starscream. Second we gathered as much as possible before heading back and setting off the bomb in the mine. And thirdly I'm not sure. Arcee would be better at that last part." Marissa explained dropping her duffle bag and just full of pride at that moment.
"What was that about an explosion? Was there a fight? Can I come with next time?" Miko questioned excitedly. Arcee growled being pissed at her. Not that Marissa could really blame her. So Marissa called Jack over to help pull away from the situation.
"Arcee, what did you see?" Optimus asked.
"Not Cliff, at least, not anymore. He was mutated, butchered, like something from those con experiments during the war…" She was unable to finish as she fall to her knees and grabbed hold of a massive white box and leaned herself against it. 'Poor Cliffjumper, even if I did not know him, he should not have been that way or experimented on. Poor Arcee I feel bad for her losing someone you care for is hard on anyone.' Marissa thought sadly it was very disheartening to hear that.
"Are you alright?" Bumblebee asked concerned as he stepped forward to her. "I'm fine, just dizzy." She said, waving her hand in dismissal.
"Robots who get dizzy?" Miko whispered, not really asking anyone. Jack walked up and stood next to her.
"Robots, who can get injured," Jack followed on. Raf shook his head and walked in-between the other two.
"Robots with emotions." He said. Then I stepped in next to him putting my hand on his shoulder.
"Robots, who can die." Marissa finished, sorrow shown in her tone and face, she began to think about her own father's death.
Ratchet walked over to Arcee and a blue light scan over her body. The light went red when it ran over the female's hand. He kept on scanning until he finally stopped onto Arcee's hand. Ratchet grunted.
"What is this?" He asked Arcee. She shook her head and place her other hand onto her head like her head hurt or something.
"Don't know, Cliff was covered in it, leaking it." She answered. Ratchet gently grabbed her hand, got a knife, and scrapped some of the strange purple substance off of her hand. He raised it up and looked at it.
"Go take a decontamination bath, now." He said. Bumblebee walked over and helped her up, leading Arcee away. 'Bee such a sweetheart to his own race.' Marissa thought. Ratchet also walked off to test that purple stuff.
Jack got out his phone and raised his hand. What's in the hell is that boy doing?
"O-Optimus. I-I hate to bug, but no bars." He said, showing the bot his phone.
"A security precaution, the silo walls isolate all radio waves." Optimus stated.
"Well if I don't call my mom like right now, I'm pretty sure the cops will be out looking for me." Jack said.
"Have you broken a law?" Optimus leaned closer to us.
"Uh, curfew it's after 10 PM." Jack said. Marissa checked the time oh yeah she had time her curfew wasn't until 11 pm.
"I better get home too. Or, I'll be grounded for a year." Raf said.
"Earth customs, I hadn't considered, but the issue of your safety remains." Optimus said while standing back in place.
"Bulkhead, accompany Miko home." He said, while Bulkhead walked up to him.
"AWESOME! My host parents will freak!" Miko shouted all excited.
"And maintain convert surveillance, in vehicle form." Optimus said.
"Curbside duty, got it." Bulkhead replied. Miko slouched.
"Bumblebee, you'll watch over Raf." Boss bot called to Bee, who nodded. Raf smiled at him being his guardian.
"Ratchet-"
"Busy." He dismissed Optimus. 'Rude much dude.' Marissa thought crossing her arms.
"Arcee, you will accompany Jack." Prime announced. Jack rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Still dizzy." Arcee said, obviously not liking her new job.
"I don't blame you." Marissa snorted.
"Your fine, says your physician." Ratchet cleverly retorted, waving an arm in the air. Arcee groaned at that.
"Ratchet, you will be Marissa's guardian." Optimus said Marissa eyes widened.
"Now hold on, Optimus-" Ratchet began, but Optimus interrupted.
"Marissa needs a guardian too," Optimus reminded him.
"You know, she lives next door to me," said Jack.
"So?" Arcee asked.
"Arcee could just give us both a lift," Jack offered.
"This isn't about distance Jack. She needs a guardian as well." Optimus clarified. Looking at her. "You will be her guardian, Ratchet no arguing."
Ratchet sighed and said, "Yes sir. Well, Marissa, let's go." Ratchet then turned into an ambulance.
Marissa looked unhappy about this but into the amablince anyway.
