I can't believe this.
My life has just turned upside down.
My name is Mariel Sanchez, and I live in Bramble, Cape Cod. Recently, I was evicted from my home. That turned my life, too. But now! It's even more lopsided.
A letter just came in the mail from my mother. My mother! I haven't heard from her much since I was small, after she chased a dream to star in a play called 'OurTown'. Now she's starring in a Broadway play, and I'm so happy for her, I can hardly speak.
Especially because she invited me to stay the summer with her in New York City.
I'm going for sure. No doubts in my mind. But I'm going to miss my family so much, as well as my very best friend, Willa. We have so much in common, it's as if we've known each other our whole lives.
The missing of home with strangle me while I'm gone. But I must do it, I must go!
And I will have the time of my life.
