"I really don't care about basketball."

Sue only made the freshman and the girls she wished to punish cheer at games, but everyone had to come and take up half a set of bleachers, in an effort to intimidate the school McKinley was playing against.

Santana rested her chin in her hands and leaned forward, elbows digging into her knees. She turned her head and looked at Brittany, next to her, who hadn't replied. She was staring straight forward and grimacing. "You okay?" Santana asked when she noticed her strange behavior. "You're shivering…"

Brittany gritted her teeth and, after a second, shook her head.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm cold."

Santana looked around. "It's hot in here. And," she said worriedly, touching the backs of her fingers to Britt's forehead, "Babe, you're burning up."

"I'm fine."

"No, you're not. You just said you weren't. Let's go home." She stood up and reached her hand out to help Brittany up.

"We can't," Brittany said quietly. "I'm too cold."

"Oh, no." Santana pulled off her letterman jacket and placed it over the one Brittany was already wearing. "Is it really that bad?"

Brittany nodded pathetically and her girlfriend hugged her tightly. They broke apart and Santana helped her down the stairs, not having realized how weak she was.

"Where you going, Lopez?" a sophomore Cheerio called after them.

Santana turned around briefly. "We have to go. Sorry."

They left the gym and, once outside, Brittany staggered. Santana looked at her with wide eyes as she leaned away from her and vomited onto the ground.

"Brittany…" She pulled a tissue out of her bag and wiped the other girl's mouth with it.

"I'm sorry," Brittany mumbled as thin tears ran down her face.

"It's fine, baby," Santana kissed her cheek and brushed her hair behind her ear. "Let's just get you to a doctor, okay?"
