After the victim of said rape shot herself in Edward'study he stayed away from criminal law. He met Bella and instantly liked her but Bella has a lot of issues that he tried to help her with. After some time he learn that Bella has been raped but things change when she described what happened to him and he realized that the rapist was James. He does anything, even put his own carreer at risk, to get James in jail. Emmet his Edward's friend and they work together, Rosalie is a public attorney that hates Edward because the only case she ever lost was against him and has James' case but she helps him and Bella and they become friends. Jasper and Alice are Bella's friends.
