Harry Potter and the Dark Lord's Apprentice

Chapter 1: In the Beginning

As the lights shined upon the darkness ahead the conductor knew that soon the train would reach its destination. The man had been doing this same exact job for over forty five years, and soon he would be ready for retirement. The darkness surrounding the train frightened the man, for he had soon begun to question if something in the dark had been moving. The man just shrugged and suggested that the dark night was playing tricks on his mind. He wouldn't question if something strange was occurring either, for this job was no ordinary job, and this train was no ordinary train. This train was the Hogwarts Express, and occupying its carts were the first year students approaching the school of witch craft and wizardry. But what the Conductor didn't know was that this was no ordinary night. As the conductor sipped his coffee and read his daily paper he noticed a small glowing light far out in the distance ahead of him. The man took one last sip of his coffee and set it down on a small cupboard. The man squinted trying to get a view of what the strange glowing was coming from. The man sighed, took off his glasses, and spitted on to the lenses. The man then took the bottom of his shirt and wiped the lenses clean. As the conductor put them back on and fixed his vision, the man saw a tall man dressed in all black. The man reached quickly for the break lever trying to slow the train down to avoid the dark figure. This, of course, was pointless. There was nothing to keep the man from reaching his fate………but I'm not talking about the man standing in the way of a speeding train. No, I'm talking about the conductor, and the students, and even the train it self. For the man standing on the tracks was no ordinary man. He was in fact a wizard. A Dark wizard and glowing light was coming from the tip of a long ebony wand. The man watched with horror as the light he saw far away from a safe distance, which where he was now was now so much of a safe distance, erupted from the dark figures wand, leaving the last thing the man would ever see, being the grinning face of a hooded murderer. The event of this incident was November 26th at 7:48 P.M. The day that Barnabas Cuffe, editor of the Daily Prophet would hear about the disaster, November 26 at 9:30. The day that the Daily Prophet would put the event as the top story in their newspaper, November 27, 3:37 A.M. The time the article would be released to the public, 5:00 A.M. The time that a large quantity of the Daily Prophets would arrive at the ministry of magic, 5:30 A.M. The Exact moment that one copy of that morning's Daily Prophet would arrive at the office door of 17 year old Harry Potter in the Auror's Department, 5:35 A.M.
