I sat on my bed in the quarters that I shared with the one who taught the students who were impressed with my greatness. I looked at his face and saw that he had a look of mourning on his face. He must of saw me looking at him because he locked his eyes on me and said "We succeed but it cost us quite a bit. Even I can't think of something to say to lighten the mood this time."
I gave him a nod and said "Even though this gives me an opportunity to take my rightful place as master of Shing Jei Monastary I'm not as excited as I thought I would be."
"How can you say such a thing Vhang? Master Togo hasn't even been given a service and you're already thinking of your own advancement," Kai said harshly.
"You fail to find the meaning to my words and take them only as they are like a simpleton. Master Togo was like a father to me since I came to the monastery as an orphan and I'm saddened by our loss. I always thought of Togo stepping down in old age and passing the control of the monastery to one of us headmasters. I never imagined him being struck down in battle. It's the best way for a master to go but the thought of it happening to Togo wasn't even in my mind as great as he was," I said feeling the lump in my throat and trying not to burst in to tears in front of assistant.
He gave a nod and said "I know how you feel. I'm just surprised you can." I glared at him and he just gave me one of his stupid grins that he always does when he jokes with someone.
He laughed and I set off a spark by his ear. He looked at me with a smile and said "That was quite the shocking response."
I shook my head and said "Sometimes you and your jokes get on my nerves and sometimes they're just what I need."
He laughed and said "I may be a joker but I'm no fool."
I sat down on the bed next to him and said "Now I know why I came with you instead of sending Reng Ku with you or coming with him. Sometimes your sharp tongue works in just the right way."
His face grew red and I smiled at him. I brought my face close to his and when my mouth was a few inches from his ear I whispered "Not that I would know much about how it moves but I know very well how it works."
He jumped up from the bed and looked at me with a red face. "What are you implying headmaster," he asked?
"I think I'll imply a bit more so that you can figure it out for yourself within your simple mind. Panaku and Aiden that I've seen," I said with a smile.
"What have you seen," He asked me nervously?
I laughed and said "Enough to know you have a thing for weirdos."
He stood up, shook his head, glared at me, and then sat down. He suddenly put his arm around me, brought his face next to my ear, and said "I especially like you so I must really have a thing for weirdos."
I felt my face turn red but I smiled at him in spite of it and said "I'm not weird. I'm just a genius."
He kissed me on the cheek and said "You can't be a genius. Any idiot would of seen what I was trying to start."
I laughed and said "Then feel free to start but you better be willing to finish." He smiled at me as he went to lock the door.
