She had brown eyes, he noticed. She was young…and somewhat attractive.

Hello, and who are you? Hojo thought to himself as he gave the girl seated on a countertop a quick once over. She was concentrated on a clipboard, scrawling down words with the pen that rested in her petite hand. It seemed as though the woman wouldn't even notice the other presence in the room, until she tensed suddenly and gasped.

"Oh, hi. I didn't realize you were there."

"I see." He pushed the glasses farther up the bridge of his nose, expression unchanging. "I just came down to get a beaker, Miss…?"

"Lucrecia Crescent."

"Lucrecia." He repeated softly, liking the way the name rolled off his tongue. "Well, may I ask what you are doing in the lab store room?"

"Am I in the way?" Lucrecia looked so innocent, embarrassed. "I'm just filling out a paper…because, you see, I'm starting an apprenticeship here next week and they told me to complete some forms. I couldn't find any place quiet to do it, then I found this room. So here I am!" She gave him a bright smile that died quickly when she saw his lack of interest. "Well…I'm sorry for bothering you." As she slipped slowly off the counter, Hojo caught a glimpse of her thighs.

"You weren't a bother." He didn't even look at her as she opened the door. "I look forward to working with you, Miss Crescent."
