I was a little depressed when I wrote this and once again I'm not sure if it's completely accurate. But I thought I'd try again. I tried following Kenshin's emotions when he was trying to find Tomoe and after she was killed. Please let me know what you think. Ja ne!
My Broken Heart
I thought I'd never see you again
But my heart wouldn't let you go.
My tears began to fall like rain
My emotions started to show.
My body ached with unknown pain.
My heart just kept on breaking.
I shed off my murderous side.
A softer me was waking.
Then I found where you had gone.
My eyes were blind with sadness.
I'd do anything to get you back.
Just to stop this madness.
Then that monster stood in my path.
Tried to take you away
But the next few moments...
I'll never forget that day.
I drew my blade to claim you as mine.
But I was so blind I couldn't see.
You tried to save my life that night
The scene's burned in my mind.
In the flash of a second my world was destroyed.
Your blood burned on my hands.
My heart went from an endless void
To beating in your still hands.
I cried as I'd never cried before.
The worst pain I'd known all my life
Was that horrible awful, fateful day….
That I murdered my wife.
My heart was eternally scarred that night.
I'll never live down the guilt.
The horrible feeling continues on
Until the day…I…am killed.
