Disclaimer: I don't own Jurassic Park or anything associated with it!
A/N: This is a one-time thing. I wrote this for English as extra credit. I got an A! I think it pulled my grade up to a B. Yay! Ok, and then I had to read it aloud right before most of the class had lunch!
I was up on top of the building the meat people called the lodge. My brother and I had been sent by the pack to chew through the cold, hard bars and allow us entry. None of them had wanted to, because although we can chew through the bars, it is very painful. The hardness of the bars drives our teeth back into the gums with sharp bursts of pain. Most likely we won't be able to eat anything but soft foods for a week. The elders will enjoy the spoils of our victory, while we holler in pain. Yet we still chew, for the word of the pack is law. I could see the meat people inside the room. There was a male lying on the padded platform below and another male standing, while a female talked to the male on the bed. Finally, my brother had freed the first bar. I sent my hind leg through the glass to shatter it. I stopped long enough to watch the shards of glass fall onto the bed. My jaw was so sore I could hardly chew anymore, but I chewed. The scent of fresh blood spurned me to chew like there was no tomorrow. I paused my chewing spree in time to see the female leave the room. Something about the others in the room, suggested that she was going to go outside. I whistled a signal to the pack standing outside the fence surrounding the lodge. They would take her down the second she exited. I returned to chewing on the bars. I could smell the intoxicating fear of the meat people below.
"Come and get it! Dinner is served!" I heard from outside the lodge. Yes, dinner was indeed served. I listened for the sounds of my feasting kin, but they did not come. What was wrong with the meat person I had alerted them to? Then I heard it, the sound of the gate opening and closing. They would come to that sound. The pack attacked and I heard them running after the female meat person. My elation was halted when I heard the gate close with no sounds of feasting. I returned to the bars, those were my mission. I could hear the pack playing with the human, now safely behind bars. They continued to play with her for quite a while, distracting her. That was our signal. My brother and I left the skylight to peer out over the front of the lodge. I saw the door open and I jumped, knowing that a meat person must be opening it. My claw sliced open his belly, allowing his guts to spill out onto the grass. In my frenzy I allowed the female meat person to re-enter the building. I would be punished for that, but I dove my snout into the male's body, thankful that it was not yet too sore to eat. I engulfed myself into a world where blood and meat were the only things. I forgot about the other humans and the pack and fed.
