Summary: It's Wednesday.

John Sheppard was stalking the halls of Atlantis.
He had been wandering aimlessly through the halls for almost three hours.
They had returned late last night from a recovery mission from X5-946, McKay had thought there was a ZPM hidden somewhere on the planet. It had turned out to be a false alarm with McKay declaring that they should have been on X5-495.
John sighed. This was not the source of his restlessness.
He wasn't sure if he should say something to her. He didn't know if it would mean anything to her. He rubbed his arm as he remembered vividly what happened that last time he hadn't said it.
John sighed again. This had been his thought train for at least the last two and a half hours. He glanced at his watch, it was 0929 and he was supposed to be in a mission debriefing at 0930.

"Well done everyone, perhaps next time we may be more successful in locating the ZPM" Elizabeth said with a sideways glance at Rodney.
The team filed out of the briefing room until there was only John and Teyla left. Teyla made her way over to John. He had been acting very strangely throughout the meeting and she needed to see if he was ok.
"Colonel?" She asked, startling him out of his daydream.
"Yes?" He turned towards her
"Are you feeling well? You don't not seem to be your usual self" She asked, eyes full of concern
His palms started to sweat.
"Teyla, do you know what day it is today?" he asked her nervously.
She smiled at him. "Yes, Doctor Weir taught me these. I believe today is what you refer to as Wednesday."
He chuckled slightly at her proud look on her face.
"Today is not only Wednesday Teyla," her head tilted "It's one year to the day that we first met. On Earth it kinda means something, nothing big or anything but most people, mainly women actually, like it to be acknowledged you know?" he rushed
Her head was still tilted but there was a smile on her lips.
He held out his hand and opened it. Inside was a silver necklace with a small ruby pendent that he had thought would shine perfectly around her neck. He had bought it the first time he had travelled back to Earth but hesitated in giving it to her.
Teyla looked in wonder at the delicate, alluring piece of jewellery in John's hand.
"It's beautiful" she managed.
"Happy one year anniversary Teyla" he said as he put it around her neck.
He turned to walk away as he felt her put her hand on his shoulder. He turned back towards her and she reached up to him and placed a gentle kiss on his check.
"Happy one year anniversary John" she said, and then turned and walked out the room.
