Well, since I'm in such a great mood since I'm done with horrible hard college tests for a couple weeks, I decided to post this. My editor's so proud of me with this one...enjoy my little drabble!
Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom, so don't try anything.

Sitting on the large, overstuffed sofa in the family room of Fenton Works, he stared mournfully at the door. Danny's ghost sense had gone off hours ago, and he'd left without so much as a goodbye. He still hadn't returned from his fight with the Box Ghost; it shouldn't have taken so long. Rain pelted at the window, only making his misery more pronounced. Sighing heavily, he rested his head on a nearby pillow and settled down to wait for the boy to come home.
"Sweetie, what are you doing down here?" Maddie's bright voice drifted over to him, but he didn't answer her. Staring up into her soft purple eyes, he shook his head slightly and sighed deeply. She smiled knowingly, and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"Don't worry, dear, I'm sure Danny will be home soon." Seeing that she wasn't comforting him any, she sat down next to him and started rubbing his back, murmuring quietly to him.
"You've had a rough day, haven't you, chasing after ghosts all day long. I bet you're pretty tired." She smiled when she saw him brighten as she rubbed his back, and moved her hands up to his neck.
"Ooh, that's the spot, isn't it?" she cooed lovingly. He relaxed under her careful hands, letting himself fall into a blissful sleep as all of his worries floated away. As soon as he'd fallen asleep, Maddie quietly got up from the couch. Giving him one last fond look, she went upstairs, leaving a very content, curly dog lying on the couch to await his boy.

Aww, man, bet you all thought it was Jack, huh! Hehe, just couldn't resist this one. I heard a song, "If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with" and thought of my sister's dog, and how that applies to him. He's such a moocher. Then I though of our golden doodle's total devotion to my brother, and this just popped in! Hope you guys liked it!
