Hi peoples here is my story. Sorry I couldn't find a better name for the gangs.

There were always two main gangs in Marronsburg, the Imperialists and Shinsengumi. Each had their territory and best fighters, The Imperialists had Kenshin Himura, and The Shinsengumi had Saitou Hajime. Each had their respective nicknames. Kenshin was the Batousai and Saitou was the Third wolf. There had always been similarities between the two gangs, such as their belief Slay evil immediately. A gang war was about to happen and the only ones who knew about it were the gangs and High schoolers. One girl had come especially to see Kenshin fight, Tomoe Yukishiro, his girlfriend. Every one who actually thought they stood a chance in the fight took sides. Those who didn't think they would live or didn't like fighting just watched.
The war would start at Midnight. The Imperialists all walked to the junkyard wearing their signature purple and blue. The Shinsengumi were already there wearing their red and white. When The Imperialists arrived everyone could feel the tension. Tomoe grasped her pocket knife tightly while sitting up on a high wall.
A gun fired form the side of the Shinsengumi ringing out through the neighborhood. The brawl started. The Imperialists ran forward with the Batousai at the head of them. More gunshots were fired and knives were soon gathering more stains of blood. The imperialists were winning the Shinsengumi's numbers slowly but steadily decreasing. There were only several left. One was a large 19 year old who had stupidly tried to fight Kenshin. Worry rushed through Tomoe. She jumped off the wall and Ran in between Kenshin and the Shinsengumi member just as Kenshin had pulled the trigger on his gun. The bullet shot straight though Tomoe and it's intended target, the large Shinsengumi member. Tomoe fell into Kenshin's arms. She opened her pocket knife and slashed Kenshin horizontally across a vertical scar on his cheek and then the light left Tomoe's eyes and her body turn cold. The Shinsengumi took this opportunity and ran as to save the members they had left.Seeing this as a win the imperialists cheered; all except Kenshin.
Two year had passed and Kenshin was now 17. After the incident His adoptive father, Hiko, had decided to move them to a small town. Kenshin was enrolled in the local High School as a senior.
A/N : reviews would be much appreciated an constructive criticism is encouraged. yes I do know in the anime and manga Kaoru is not super smart, but it is an AU story.
