Sokka stormed around the gang's camp. "Who took my boomerang!" Suddenly a rock hit him in the butt. "HEY!!" He turned around to face Toph, "What was that for?"

"What was what for?" Toph looked around innocently and fluttered her eyes.

"You just – but –AUGH" Sokka threw his hands up in the air. "Who took my boomerang!" He called out again.

Toph pointed at the ground next to Sokka's bed roll. "It was right there last when something hit it and it vibrated."

Sokka ran over to the spot and looked all over getting on his hands and knees lifting up small rocks in hopes that his boomerang would be there.

Toph shook her head, silly Sokka, yet… She started to open her mouth when suddenly a bird flew over head and cawed. "My boomerang!" Sokka called out excitedly. Toph sighed and started to follow him.

Sokka ran towards the cliff, that was covered in forest and stopped at the base of it. Looking up his mouth dropped at the size of it.

He set out through the forest heading up the incline. A twig snapped and Sokka pulled his club out holding it in front of him like a sword. A squirrel jumped from the tree branch and down to the ground. Sokka screamed and started waving the club around wildly.

"Hey hero, it's a squirrel and it's gone." Toph's voice called out half mockingly. Yet it seemed almost teasing.

Sokka froze his wild waving and looked at her as she stepped out from behind a bush. "I knew that, I was just being careful." He grinned and leaned against a tree but slipped off and fell to the ground.

Toph laughed and walked over helping him up. "Come on hero, let's find your boomerang."

He brushed himself off with a sore expression on his face. "I can do it just fine."

"With my help."

He sighed and followed her, as she started walking further up the cliff. He swung his club around absently until Toph stopped suddenly.

"There's a bird moving out on that ledge." She said pointing to an extremely thin ledge.

Sokka gulped and started walking across the ledge very, very slowly. Toph sighed and looked in his direction.

A small smile lit her face.

He's so brave!

Then she widened the path for him. He turned and looked at her. A smile on his face, not the normal, goofy smile, but a true smile. "Thanks Toph, that helps a lot. He ran out and picked up his boomerang and hugged it. "You always come back!" He laughed and put the club and boomerang onto his back.

Just in time…

The bird that had been disturbed from its nest had flown up into the air and was now flying straight at Sokka's head. He ducked and screamed.

"What? What's wrong?" Toph called, switching to a defensive stance.

"Attacker bird! Run for cover!" Sokka replied as he ran past her towards the woods.

"So much for brave, admirable…cute…" She stopped and a grin slowly spread across her face. Turning around she followed Sokka back towards camp.
