Split Infinity

Prologue
She waited.
She was good at waiting, the only remnants of her past life of when she had waited for her father, for her husband, for her sons during the war. An entire life spent uselessly, governed by the males in her life. It was stupid, she saw that now. She should have rebelled and put her foot down, should've said no, should've said that she wanted some choices to choose from....
Her father was blamed for her meekness, so she killed him. On second thought, her husband might've contributed to that damned weakness, and she waited until he was sleeping, snoring away into the night, before sliding a dagger into his temple. Her sons had fled, claiming she was mad, seeking an army to slaughter this sorceress who had sprung up overnight in place of their submissive mother. She could've easily stirred up a typhoon, or split the earth in two, or strike them down with lightning. She didn't. They were her sons.
They governed her life, and she had argued once or twice, and that had led to beatings. They governed her life, and she had killed them, and that had set her free.
And, ah... what freedom. Who cared about being a lady, when you could have *this*? Who cared about money, or titles, or who-married-who, when you could have... *this*? This exquisite power that could part the waves of the sea, and soar amongst the stars, and fling the trees apart and rearrange the earth to your liking.
Of late, she had grown bored. But that was okay. She had new interests now, new plans, new... worlds. Neither her plotting nor her waiting had been in vain. Things were clicking together, moving into place as the game began. Like a spider lying in wait for its prey, so did she for her quarry.
And like the gods before her, she saw that it was good.

Okay, I've redone Split Infinity. You know that this is the answer to Challenge of A Lifetime. Sorry, sorry, so so sorry for the *huge* delay. I'm starting it over again... please, review. I've spent time plotting this story to make it as best as I could... I'd really appreciate to hear your ideas and criticism, either by e-mail or review. I want to know if this story has potential, if *I* have potential as a future writer. Thanks!
