Blue eyes.

They both had the same exact blue eyes.

Everytime I saw Luke Skywalker's eyes I thought of my dear friend, Anakin. Infact sometimes it was especially difficult to not call Luke, Anakin out of old habit.

Not that it would have upset Luke had I called him by his father's name, he looked up to his father even though he had never known him, he admired him, and loved him, but most of all Luke wished he'd known him.

In a way Luke does know Anakin, not as the evil, plotting Darth Vader, but through himself. If Luke could look at himself from someone who had known his father's point of view...he would be the closest thing to Anakin Skywalker that you could find.

Not only does Luke have Anakin's piercing blue eyes, but their personalities are amazingly similar.

I remember when I first met Anakin, the loving, caring, little nine-year old boy, but their was also something else about him...an edge that the Council, and even I feared. Of course, after I got to know him I realized different.

Anakin longed for adventure and excitement, just like Luke.

The first time I met Luke Skywalker he was seven.

Luke and Biggs Darklighter, who was several years older than Luke, were planning on sneaking off to Mos Eisly...

It just so happened that on that precise day I was heading to the Lars' farm.

I had recently been trying to convince Luke's Uncle to allow me to talk with the young boy- to no avail. I was halfway to the farm when I stopped. I was actually quite surprised to find an old beat up speeder with about five young boys inside, heading toward Mos Eisly.

I felt Luke before I saw him, like Anakin he was one of the brightest Force-sensitive's I'd ever felt. His emotions were flowing right at me...excitement...and fear. This was his first time to sneak off apparently.

I drew up closer to the speeder... then I saw him.

He looked exactly like the young, nine year old Anakin I had met so many years ago. He was the one driving the speeder.

Must have picked up his father's piolting skills too, I thought. Luke, like Anakin, had shaggy blond hair that was falling in his eyes. It was bleached by the harsh Tatooine suns, his eyes were the same stunning electric blue as his father's, and his skin was tanned.

Biggs Darklighter was the first boy to spot me,"Luke! Luke hurry hit the accelerater!" he had screeched.

"Okay...Okay! Calm down!" Luke yelled back as he hit the accelerater and sped away from me. I followed the speeder all the way into Mos Eisly, where I finally caught up with the little boy.

"Luke Skywalker?" I called exasperated. Everyone stared at Luke, who had his back turned to me. He slowly spun around.

"Y..yeah," he mumbled. His friends snickered, thinking about how much trouble their friend had gotten into.

"I wish to talk to you," I stated calmly.

Luke slowly walked toward me, and stopped a foot away.

I stared at the resemblance he bore to my old padawan, but the only thing I could say was," You look just like your father."

"Uh..thanks?" the seven year old mumbled back before running off with his friends. There were many other times we met, and each time he reminded me more and more of Anakin.

Why did Luke have to have those blue eyes?
