(Work in Progress) This is not the full story! I've deleted Aftermath I and Aftermath II as they were so short they didn't deserve their own story's. I am working on completely re-writing all three stories and melding them together so they can all be posted on this story as one long oneshot. Thanks for reviewing them, I hope I can make them better.
Aftermath
Yami sat down, once again by Yugi's bedside. The small hikari had been asleep for three days now, and Yami was worried sick.
He took a sip from his coffee and then placed it down on the bedside table. Taking his hikari's small hand in his own he attempted to contact his love through their link...but failed.
Sighing he reached again for his coffee, it was going to be another long night.
Yugi was sitting in his soulroom, he had no idea where he was, or how to get out. He could hear a deep, concerned male voice every so often, the voice would call for someone named Yugi then leave.
He had no idea who this 'Yugi' could be.
He sat on the cold floor, the yellow walls seemed to be familiar, but where from? Was this room his?
He sighed and hugged his knees closer to his chest, shivering from the cold. Wherever he was, he hoped someone would find him soon. He tried calling out to the voice, but received no answer.
Yami sat up, he could have sworn he heard Yugi through the link. It had been very weak but it fed Yami's hope.
Yami returned to the corridor between the soulrooms and tried Yugi's door, which had previously been locked.
When it opened Yami looked frantically around, desperate to find Yugi.
"Yugi? Yugi? Where are you?"
"Hello? Is someone there?"
"Yugi..."
Yami ran to the small figure that was sitting in the middle of the floor. He was hugging his knees to his chest, when Yami ran up to him and embraced him in a hug.
"Yugi, are you alright? I've been so worried. When your soul got taken I thought that was the end of you. But your safe now, everything's okay."
Yugi just sat there, not saying anything. Yami bushed the golden bangs away from Yugi's face and looked into Yugi's beautiful deep violet eyes, and gasped.
Usually full of innocence and life, his aibou's eyes were now hollow, looking around the whole soulroom looked different. It was then Yami noticed the lack of toys.
"Yugi, where are all of your toys? Where is everything?"
Yugi just looked up at him blankly.
"Do you...know who I am, even?"
Yami's heart broke as he watched the smaller gently shake his head.
"I don't know anything, I'm scared."
Yugi's eyes filled with tears as his yami gathered him into a hug. He rubbed small circles on the youngers back in a soothing way.
"It's okay, everything will be okay."
Yugi just lay in Yami's arms.
"Why can't I remember anything?"
"I don't know, but don't worry. Yugi, I love you, remember that. I will be here for you no matter what."
Yugi just nodded, clinging to Yami. For some reason he believed him, he just knew that Yami would help him.
"Do you not remember anything?"
Yugi shook his head sadly, looking up with tears in his amethyst eyes.
Suddenly a soft brown teddy appeared on the soulroom floor. Yami picked it up and noticed it was the teddy he had won for his aibou last year at the fair, smiling to himself he thought that maybe Yugi would remember...eventually.
"This is mine...right?"
"Hai, take it. Maybe you'll remember more. But for now rest, your body is still weak from the duel."
Yugi nodded and walked over to the bed in the corner.
"Come lay with me? Yami?"
Yami smiled and nodded he walked over and pulled the covers around them both, holding Yugi in his strong tanned arms.
'I shouldn't rush anything, he probably won't remember our relationship and I don't want to scare him. For now I'll just have to settle with being friends. For now."
"Goodnight aibou. Sleep well."
"Goodnight Yami...
...Love you."
