A drabble story filled with What-Ifs. What if the Silver Millennium hadn't ended? What if Queen Serenity found out about her daughter's affair and greatly disapproved? What is a certain blonde Moon Princess was, by that time pregnant? So I came up with this, a sad little tell about lovers seperate and forced to go about their lives and fulfill their duties...
Salvage
They were more than a little mischievous, and unmindful, well, at least that was what their dearest friends would say to them. Senshi and Shitennou would plead with their respective masters to end this, whatever it was - but the pair would never listen. The guardians would say that they were acting without real thought, and that their liaison was more than a little dangerous. They'd declare that they were willingly calling the storm to cloud their happy blue skies, and that sooner or later lightning would hit and reality become all too painfully clear.
But what do they know?
Against loved ones wishes and concerns they continued to play in the rainstorm. At first discreetly as if to hide from the sun who would try to steal their fun, then somewhat openly, recklessly, as if defying all those who doubted them.
Kisses had fluttered freely those days, as freely as the raindrops that fell from the impending storm cloud. Whispered vows of devotion need not be spoken because the the promises frolic in their eyes as they carelessly danced under the encroaching storm.
And then it happened. The storm they had danced so blissfully, so ignorantly under showed its true face. Queen Serenity, the power of the Silver Millennium knew, and everything changed after that.
He told her he loved her and she'd declare the same, with ten times more fevor spurring him to swear his undying love yet again.
But it was of no use now.
The storm's denouement was heartbreaking. One left alone in his world of lush greens and blues, and golden castles, and the torn from his side by duty to a world of pale pastels and customs that seemed so distant from her now.
How did it end so fast?
It was almost as it had been when it began.
Lonely and feeling forgotten, even with an earthly wife by his side and a beautiful daughter - though not born out of love she was, Endymion fervently wondered when it would be safe.
With an illegitimate child with dark black hair and bright blue eyes nestled close to her bosom - Serenity, wife of Prince Diamond now, anxiously wondered when it would be safe.
Both of them awaiting the moment to venture out into the mess that was their lives and try to salvage the pieces.
End.
I've put too much thought into this story to be as short as it is. The child's name, the one who is secretly Serenity and Endymion's, is Aetolus. Endymion's daughter by his earth Queen is Menae. So, yeah...should I write a story where the half-siblings meet or something? Reviews welcome and appreciated.
