(SET JUST AFTER EPISODE 20)

Zane was standing at the lighthouse, taking in the fresh air to calm his nerves. Syrus' words replayed in his mind over and over again.

"She's in love."

"Big time. And she's in love with you Zane," Alexis said.

His mind was brought back to reality as he heard footsteps approaching him. He turned his head slightly to see the outline of a certain blonde female. She stood next to him, looking out at the ocean.

"What are you thinking?" she asked him.

He smirked lightly. She always seemed to know when something was on his mind. She understood him like no one else could; not his brother or his best friend, Atticus.

"What Blaire said took me by surprise. I didn't realize she loved me so much that she would come to Duel Academy and go through all this trouble to get married. I'm just glad that I'll be gone once she comes back."

"And she now has a crush on Jaden instead of you," she told him.

"Love doesn't work like that. You can't sneak your way into somebody's heart."

"You seem to know quite a lot about love."

She looks at him, taken back by his words. She barely knew a thing about love.

"What makes you think that?" she asked him.

"What you told Blaire sounded like it came from experience." He answered.

"Well, I don't really know that much about it."

"Right now, I'm only in love with one thing: dueling"

Zane's words echoed in her mind. He only loved dueling. He doesn't love anyone. He doesn't love her.

"So, even though you could probably get a date with every girl at the school, you only love dueling?"

Her question took him by surprise. Startled, he looked at her; only to find that she's staring him straight in the eyes. He saw as the emotions swirled in her orbs; nervousness, love and perhaps a touch of jealousy.

"Why do you ask?"

She simply shrugged and looked back out to the endless blue ahead. He followed her example, but can't help but feel interested in her reasoning.

"Fine. I do like more than just dueling. I like a girl that has grown very close to me."

She pondered on what he said, trying to figure out who it could possibly be. Blaire? No. He rejected her and they didn't seem very close. Jasmine? No. They're not close either.

"Who?" She saw him smirk from the corner of her eyes.

"Why don't you try guessing."

She frowned. She knew that he normally didn't like playing games or riddles. Maybe he didn't want her to know, but then why would he ask her to guess?

"Give me a hint," she demanded.

"She's an amazing duelist and an Obelisk Blue," he answered.

Well that definitely knocked out Blaire. So who could it be? She looked at him and noticed that he was still smirking. She thought about who he was around a lot, but only came up with boys and teachers.

"What else?" He smiled as he thought. She must really be something, to be able to get him to smile, Alexis thought.

"She's beautiful. She has a brother. She understands me better than anyone else. I trust her with everything. She meets me here very often. Her name is Alexis Rhodes and I'm in love with her," he told her.

She looked at him and saw the sincerity in his eyes. She could see that he meant everything he said. Before she realized what she was doing, she grabbed a fistful of his shirt, pulled him towards her and kissed him. She could feel his arms wrap around her waist as hers loosened from his shirt and wound around his neck. They pulled away and rested their foreheads against each other, noses touching. She smiled and said, "I love you too." He smiled at her answer before he pulled her in for another kiss.

She was certain now that he was in love with more than just dueling.
