"Foolish Pride"
* Laura sat on her bed, wondering how she and Ross had gotten to this point. The night started off great, and then a stupid fight escalated and she walked out of his house, and came home not wanting to talk to anyone.*
She stayed up all night and cried into her pillow
And fought off the urge to just break down and call
Last night to find the fault seemed so darn easy
But now who's to blame don't matter much at all
She thinks if she calls him, it just shows weakness
So the hurt goes on with every tear she's cried
Ain't it sad to see a good love fall to pieces
Chalk another heartbreak up to foolish pride
Turn out the lights, the competition's over
The stubborn souls are the losers here tonight
And while the bridges burn
Another hard hard lesson's learned
As in the ashes, passion slowly dies
And this romance goes down to foolish pride
*Laura remembers that they argued over how often he spent time with Maia Mitchell instead of her. She's tired of competing or taken for granted. He tried to apologize but my stupid pride gets in the way, and so Laura gets into her bed holding her pillow with tears running down her face*
*Meanwhile back at the Lynch household, Ross sits in his too tears run down his face wishing that night he argued with Laura would disappear. How could she think I'd love anyone but her. Ross has loved her longer than she realized. He knows he spent alot of time with Maia. He didn't realize how Laura felt about his friendship with Maia. He is an idiot but refuses to apologize. She would need to apologize first. He wants to call Laura, but can't do it. He wrestles with this all night.*
He relives every word they spoke in anger
He walks the floor and punches out the wall
To apologize to her, would be so simple
But instead he cries, 'I'll be damned if I crawl'
If he loses her, he's lost his best friend
And more than just a lover can provide
So he wrestles with emotions that defeat him
Chalk another love lost up to foolish pride
The next morning at the studio, Ross appears at Laura's dressing room with roses.
Ross: Laura please open the door.
Laura: Go aww Ross.
Ross: Nope not going away. Last night I almost let my foolish pride destroy what we have. I love you too much to just give up.
Laura opened the door and let Ross into her dressing room.
Ross: Laura, please please forgive me? Next time I let my pride get in the way you have permission to kick my ass.
Laura: It wasn't all your fault. My pride got in the way also.
Ross: Are we really going to let this love die in flames because we are too stubborn?
Laura: I don't want to lose you, either. But I don't want to be taken for granted either.
Ross: I love you, Laur. When things go wrong we will see I through together. I wont hide that I am in love with you. I wont walk away. I want to be with you, Laura Marie Marano.
Laura: Don't let me go, Ross. I love you too.
Ross grabs Laura and kisses her not caring whose around. He has his Laur bear and that's all that matters.
