p style="text-align: left;"The sun was setting and all the town fell silent. All the kids were rushing home on their bikes as the shadow raced them home. Ellie was just packing away the latest merchandise delivery when she heard a slow hissing from the front of the shop. Rising from her knees, although she'd seen too many horror films to know not to check it out she followed the sound. Approaching the door that lead to the front of the shop she raised her arm and twisted the door handle. As her arm gently touched the metal handle she saw her own breath due to the sudden drop in temperature. Feeling dazed and confused she raised her head and continued to advance to the front of the shop. Pushing the door ajar she saw a broad shouldered shadow flipping the open sign to closed. The shadow slowly turned and revealed his face and Ellie's heart rate sped up. Realizing who he was she instantly gave out a sign of relief and shouted "Ben you idiot you scared me half to death"/p
p style="text-align: left;"Ben replied with "Sorry I was just closing up, I turned the heating off, have you finished stocking the shelves?"/p
p style="text-align: left;""Yes I've pretty much finished, just a few DVDs"/p
p style="text-align: left;"Ellie turned around and advanced back into the stock room. Through the front Ben shouted "See you tomorrow Ellie, I'm gonna get going will you lock up?"/p
p style="text-align: left;""Sure, just leave the keys on the counter"/p
p style="text-align: left;"She heard the bell that rang whenever the door opened. Ellie realized that it was Ben leaving and carried on stocking the last few DVDs. As she was checking the alphabetical order of the DVDs she grabbed her coat and prepared to leave for home. It was fully dark and night was here she left the boxes on the floor and heard the bell on the door ring again. A few seconds later she heard the keys on the shop counter rattle. Ellie didn't dare ask who was there because she knew it wasn't Ben, she could always sense his presence. Ellie and Ben had been friends since they were eight, they both were ecstatic when they found out they both got the same job working at a DVD shop. It was part time because they both attended the same college and were off to the same University the year after. No this sense wasn't Ben, this presence was pure evil and smelt like rotten eggs. That's when the lights started flickering. The lights flickered every night but not to this rapid succession. Not waiting anymore, Ellie burst through the door to the front of the shop but the layout was clear. The keys were on the shop counter as she requested. A sigh of relief drifted from her lips as she acquired the keys and locked the front. When she walked through the back, a man under the one flickering light blinked. As his eyes opened back up, both eyes turned fully magenta purple. Ellie's face slowly dropped and her smile had left the door immediately. She screamed with panic but was silenced when the figure sliced open her neck with a small but sharp blade. With blood oozing from her neck the last image she saw was the flashing lights reflect from his blade and hitting her in the eye. Without panic the man slowly dropped the blade head down into her eye. Watching her soul finally dying he descended into the alleyway and back into the shadows but not before locking the back door. Two final clicks sounded in her life as she closed her eyes for the final time and the flashing lights stopped./p
