A/N Just something that jumped in my head. I don't own GLEE or any of its characters. GLEE belongs to Fox and its creators.

Rachel ran into the card shop down the street from her with one purpose in mind; get her dads the best Father's Day cards ever. The big day was tomorrow, and Rachel for the first time ever had completely forgotten. With graduation and getting ready for NYADA and spending as much time as she could with Finn and her other friends, the holiday had slipped her mind. Marching to the holiday section of the shop she halted when her eyes fell on a familiar head of golden blonde hair. "Quinn, hello." The girl turned and gave a tight smile, "Hey Rachel."

Not really paying attention to Rachel the blonde's eyes feel back on the card in her hand. "Is that for your dad?" Rachel asked as she began looking through the cards for the perfect one that would tell her dads how much she loved them and appreciated all their sacrifices.

"No, it's for Puck." The blonde's voice was tight and controlled. Rachel turned to look at Quinn just as the blonde spoke again, her eyes on the card, "I haven't seen my father in over two years."

"What?" Rachel was generally shocked, she knew that things were tense between Quinn and her father, he did after all kick her out when he found out about Quinn's pregnancy, but Rachel had assumed they'd at least made up a little, especially since Quinn lived with her mom and well seemed just as well off as ever.

"Don't look so surprised, Berry, he kicked me out." Rachel cringed at the use of her last name. Quinn hadn't called her Berry since sometime in Junior year, though Rachel couldn't remember when, it had been a gradual thing.

"But, you live with your Mom, and well you still have money." Rachel tried not to sound rude, but she was curious. Now that she thought about it Quinn never mentioned her father, ever.

"Precisely, I live with my mom. He sends checks because the law makes him, but I am nothing to him. My last two cards returned unopened with return to sender written on the front. There is no point in sending a third." Seeming to make a decision as she spoke Quinn put down the card in her hand and pick up one the Rachel just noticed had been resting on the side of the display. "Have a good Father's Day with your dads." Quinn said as she left. Rachel caught a glimpse of the eyes Quinn had hid so successfully from her, and what she saw broke her heart. Tears and sadness flowed from the hazel depth. Rachel wanted to say something anything but she couldn't, so she let the blonde disappear.

Rachel's chest constricted as she finally realized just how much Quinn had lost since she became pregnant. That Quinn would forever live with the pain of the knowledge that she'd never see her father again, not because he was dead, but rather because she was dead to him.

Rachel wiped the tears that had formed in her eyes and looked back at the cards, yes she'd have to get her father's the best cards, she'd make tomorrow special, because though she'd always known it, Rachel now truly understood just how lucky she was to have Leroy and Hiram as her fathers. Other kids weren't so lucky, including Quinn.
