Seven year old Boba curiously surveyed the glowing white shelves over the edge of a black table. They weren't packed with frothy, multicolored liquids in containers, as he had anticipated would be the norm in a lab. It was more like a conference room with all the datacards lining the shelves. He glanced up at his father. Jango Fett was conversing with two Kaminoans. From the sound of things the Kaminoans were very important, yet they were treating his father with great respect. Boba didn't catch it all, but their discussion was definitely about the clones. It was always about the clones, he guessed. He had to guess because he had never been to a real meeting before. He had always opted to stay behind at home, but boredom drove him to change his mind this one time.

"Production is falling behind schedule," one Kaminoan, Ko Sai, said. "Many... defects have occurred, and fresh genome is..."

Boba tuned out the conversation as he concentrated on holding back a yawn. This was almost as boring as staying at home. At least he had a sense of purpose. He tried to sit straighter in his chair. He was on official business with his Dad, and that was pretty cool.

Jango fought to maintain his focus. Yes, it was important, but the Kaminoans made it boring. It was all about genome with them. They always needed more genome. He was sick of giving genome, but he had a contract. Didn't the Kaminoans know how to use genome samples sparingly? How could they run out? He wished the project focused more on production and less on new, scientific discovery. Maybe then they wouldn't need more and more genome. Boy, they sure did a lot of experiments-it made him uneasy and a little suspicious. Was this what he signed up for?

"Boba," Ko Sai said suddenly, outstretching a hand toward a cupboard but not opening it. "How would you like to do us a little favor?"

"No," Jango said immediately, sensing a plot. Boba may be an unaltered clone, but they were not going to get his unaltered clone genome. "Absolutely not."

Ko Sai exchanged a glance with her fellow scientist. "It's perfectly harmless-"

"-And I won't have it. No," said Jango firmly, rising from his chair and reaching for his son's hand.

"He may even enjoy it!" Ko Sai suggested much to Jango's horror.

"That's enough." Jango stormed out of the room with Boba following close behind them. How dare they. How dare they try to use his son!

ooooo

Ko Sai frowned. She gestured to her partner. Orun Wa stood and opened a cabinet that was directly behind the chair Boba had previously occupied. In the cabinet was a key on a chain. He passed the key to Ko Sai, who used it to open a cabinet behind her own chair. The cabinet turned out to be a small refrigerator. Ko Sai pulled out a plate of chocolate chip cookies and a pitcher of milk. Orun Wa produced napkins and cups from the cabinet behind Boba's chair.

"How odd," Ko Sai remarked as she helped herself to a cookie. "I thought human boys loved cookies."

"Perhaps young Boba is lactose intolerant," Orun Wa pondered, eyeing the ice cold milk.

"You know, if we got some of Boba Fett's genome we could determine if that were true…"

Not sure why I wrote this. Is started out as something that would be fluffy, but it ended up being humor. Did you enjoy it?
