Summary: Severus Snape lives a lonely, dull and monotonous life. He is a spy

for the Order and had come to terms with the fact that his life could end at

any given point. Everything changes however, when he meets the one woman, who

is able to change his views on life.

A/N: This is a romance between Snape and my own character Athena. I myself

love to read Snape/Hermione but I could never do them justice so this will

have to suffice. This is just a short little prologue because I do not have a lot

of time to write today. Look for updates! 33

Prologue

In all honesty, Severus Snape was not enjoying himself in the least. He knew

that in two short hours, the mark on his arm was going to start burning

painfully, and he would be expected to go to the Dark Lord. Sitting alone in his

quarters, staring at the blazing fire, he reflected on his life. He got a serious

thrill out of making his student's lives hell. Especially Harry Potter, Ronald

Weasley, and that insufferable Granger girl. Nothing, however, was as

humorous or as pathetic as the way Longbottom, shook with fear when Snape

approached his cauldron. Severus had nothing in the world though, to bring him

joy or happiness. He spent his summers alone in a house that was far too big for

one person. His cold and dreary winters spent at Hogwarts, in the dungeons.

This was the way he had lived for fifteen years and he could not imagine, or

rather, hope for a change in the monotonous daily life.
