Himiko had enjoyed the kiss for she loved Soma she did, but the kiss had left her feeling hollow. Her inner self told her that there was someone who she would meet that would fill her completely and it wasn't Soma. She clung to Chikane in anguish. How could she find this person without hurting Soma? Chikane could not take watching her love shiver in pain. Soma had started those tears and she would be the one to end them. Gently she leaned in and initiated a kiss between them. At first Himiko was hesitant but slowly she began to respond. She felt more whole and peaceful then she ever had in her life. She knew that it was wrong to feel this way because they were both girls. Even though she knew that Chikane would hate and repel her, but she just had to tell her her feelings.

"Chikane, please don't hate me, but-"

"Himiko, did you realize which of us it was that stared that kiss? It was me. There is no way that I could ever hate you. You are the sun that illuminates me. Without you I would be a black hole that would drown in my emptiness."

"Oh Chikane! I love you! I'm sorry for going out with Soma. I never knew my own feelings and because of that I caused you pain. How can I ever make it up to you?"

"Just be here with me. And promise to love only me from now on."

"I promise." Himiko promised within her heart to love Chikane for the rest of her existence. To hell with society and its rules. She was with the one she loved and that is all that mattered to her.
