Sweat was accumulating on Dr. Turner's brow as he tried to piece together the unsettling news. Hawaii, that same morning, was attacked by Japan at Pearl Harbor. A physicist by profession, Dr. Turner grew up in a time of political unrest and uneasiness. Showing promising grades in the sciences in high school, he was recruited by the military to develop the latest military technology. Constantly under pressure, Dr. Turner was easily swayed by false advertising, rumors, and gossip. Still, hearing about the attack on Pearl Harbor raised suspicions from all sides, and Dr. Turner was no different. Pearl Harbor, the media said, was attacked by a fire breathing terrestrial being.
Standing at a staggering sixty feet tall with a twenty foot tail and spines all over its back, this alleged fire breathing creature was a monster. Razor sharp toes with feet as wide as a car, this beast had the ability to step right through buildings. Tens of millions of dollars of damage was done, and the emotional trauma was palpable. Still, this story raised a number of questions. From a physicist perspective, this described creature was scientifically impossible. Scarily enough, there was footage suggesting otherwise. Then, there was the 2,400 lives lost at Pearl Harbor. Can one beast, despite the American's technology, be responsible for 2,400 lives? Finally, there was the question of who was ultimately responsible. Was this a technological device or was this an actual living, breathing, fire spewing creature? And were the Japanese to blame for this or was it out of their control? Is it fair to scapegoat them?
The answer is yes! Dr. Turner remembered that just a few years earlier a CIA agent leaked info of a small town in Tokyo being attacked by a very similar creature! As his face dropped in awe he pieced this insane puzzle together; the Japanese had a secret weapon. Not an ordinary weapon. Not an ordinary life form. Not an ordinary occurrence.
As fumbled through old documents looking for a piece he once described as science fiction, he found it in the "to be shredded" pile. He rummaged through this document looking for any piece of information he could find. He covered his mouth in awe. This creature. This being. This monster. This weapon. Godzilla was the named dubbed by the Japanese. "Godzilla. Godzilla. Godzilla." He could not help but repeat this creature of mass destructions name. It was as if he was chanting to call upon this creature and study it. "Wait" he thought. Could it be that the Japanese had captured this creature when it attacked Tokyo years ago? This was truly the unthinkable but it was slowly becoming a realistic idea.
Just as his pondering deepened the emergency phone was buzzing off the hook. He answered " here! What's the emergency?" The voice that responded had an eerie ring to it. "I see you have witnessed our latest creation. I hope he didn't cause too much trouble", the mystery man sarcastically remarked. "General Tou. I should had known!" General Tou was a demon straight of hell! His spicy ways proved dangerous for anyone in his war path. "Yes, you should have. He is a little something we trained. Let us call him Japan's guard dog... monster rather. Trained to cause mass death and destruction. The war is not over...It is truly just beginning." As tried to fire back, General Tou hung up, and the dial tone was all he heard. He wiped his face in agony, took a breath, and ran out his office. "Lola get the president on the line right away!"
