"But why!" Castiel whined to Dean for the 20th time as he stood stiffly in front of the door of the car Dean had stolen recently. He didn't understand why Dean was pushing this all of a sudden.

"Because you need to learn," Dean said, finality in his tone as he pushed Castiel to the side so he could open the door. Once he did he held it open for Castiel, who stared at him, unbelieving. "C'mon Cas! Get in the car!" he said, matching Castiel's earlier tone.

Castiel heaved a sigh and got unwillingly into the car.

Dean closed the door once Cas and his trench coat was safely in the car, then walked around to the passenger side, smiling to himself.

Once he was in too he looked over at Cas.

"Okay, this is a simple automatic. So you just turn it on and put it in drive." Castiel put his hands on the wheel like he'd seen Dean do millions of times before.

"Wait, what about this?" he asked, pulling on the seat belt.

"Oh, that's a seat belt. It's to keep you safe."

"But you never wear one." Dean shrugged.

"Yeah."

"Shouldn't you?" Castiel pressed. Dean frowned at his persistence.

"I guess…"

"Then you should put yours on." Castiel concluded. Dean let out a puff of air and wrestled with his seat belt to get it on properly.

"There. Happy?" he said harshly. Castiel nodded, unfazed by his tone. "Now, turn the car on." Dean instructed, the annoyance draining out of his voice. Castiel turned the key but nothing happened.

"The other way, Cas," Dean said, snickering under his breath. Castiel shot him a glare, then turned the key the other way. The car let out a satisfying purr, although it didn't compare to the way the Impala felt.

"Why aren't we using the Impala?" Castiel asked. Dean laughed loudly.

"And let you bust her up? I don't think so," he said. Castiel's face fell ever-so-slightly but Dean noticed it. He frowned but didn't really know how to apologize so he turned their attention back to the car.

"Okay, now you're gonna wanna put your foot on the brake." Castiel nodded and moved his foot against the two petals. The car revved.

"That's the gas. The bigger one is the brake."

"Dean this is ridiculous. I don't want to do this anymore." Castiel said, looking over at Dean. Dean looked away quickly, avoiding the puppy dog eyes.

"Come on, Cas. You almost got it. You're almost driving." Castiel sighed and put his foot on the brake.

"Now what?" he asked.

"Now you put it in drive." Dean said happily. Castiel frowned.

"Which one is drive?" he asked as he stared at the letters.

"The D." Castiel nodded, determined.

"Okay." he said, mainly to himself, and pushed the stick to the D. Dean watch quietly, amused by Castiel's quiet determination.

"Now give it gas." And Castiel did. He stomped on the gas pedal and the car flew forward.

"BRAKE, BRAKE!" Dean yelled. Castiel swerved at steered all over the place and tried stomping on the brake but before the brake could do its job, a tree did.

"Jesus Christ…" Dean muttered, the glowered over at Cas.

"Where did that tree even come from?!" Castiel said, then looked over at Dean. "What did I do wrong?" he asked, his hands gripped tightly around the wheel still, the rationale that he couldn't get hurt by a simple crash flew out the window long ago.

"You don't stomp on the gas pedal, Cas." Castiel frowned.

"Oh." Dean laughed. Despite the fact that this angel nearly killed him, he couldn't help but find the entire situation hilarious. Castiel's frown deepened.

"Why are you laughing?" he asked timidly.

"Because you are an awful driver." Dean said honestly. He took off his seat belt and opened his door.

"Come on. I think we're done with the driving thing." Castiel disappeared from his seat the reappeared next to Dean, who jumped slightly, then shook his head.

"I don't think I'll ever get used to that." he said as he walked back to the hotel with Cas right next to him.
