One day in Camp Green Lake after a long day of digging holes and dreaming of food, a new girl walked into D-tent. It was a hot day in Camp Green Lake, but, when was it not? The boys had just gotten back from digging all day and the whole tent stank. Twitch, who was new there, was thankful that it was only his first day
Every single day was the same. Get up, eat, dig, shower, eat, sleep, repeat. Suddenly the pattern was broken as a girl walked into D-tent. The moment she stepped in the tent, silence spread across the whole tent, and everyone droppedwhat they were doing. Magnet, Squid, and X-ray instantly stated to fix there hair and slide a few cocky smiles on their face, thinking of every pick-up line they ever learned. The rest of them just froze like a deer in headlights.
She was about thirteen years old, five foot four, slim and athletic, with an elfish face and pointed ears like a lynx. She had huge doe-like eyes in a stunning shade of green, full pouty lips in a delicate shade of pink and smooth sun browned skin. Her waist length brown hair had blond streaks apparently from to many days in the pool during summer. She was stunning. Someone gave a whistle in the middle of the room and she instantly became alert and threatening.
She tensed preparing to spring toward the sound if it weren't for Mom (a.k.a. Mr. Pendanski) grabbing her arm.
"Now, now Alice, you wouldn't want to cause trouble on your fist day at camp would you?"
Alice was silent until he turned his back, flipped him the Bird.
"Okay everybody, this is Jesse, she will be staying with us for now, the camp has
been recently letting in girls to the camp so be nice."
"Oh sure we'll be real nice!" shouted Magnet "Here you can have the bed next to mine, ZigZag, get outta here man!"
The two boys continued to fight for a while.
"As we can see, Alice is new here, make her feel welcomed."
Jesse was, (to Magnet's delight) given in cot in the back of the room next to him.
As soon as Mr. Pendanski left, he leaned toward her, smiling
"Hey baby, how ya doing?"
There was a sharp smack as he was thrown backwards surprised, hitting the screen that separated his and my bed.
He got up grumbling, rubbing his sore face, wincing from the punch as the whole tent burst into laughter. Cocky Magnet getting whupped by a girl. This was the beginning to a good day. The only question was what was a girl like her doing inCamp Green Lake? Twitch shuddered thinking about it.
