She didn't know what to say. Seriously, the girl with no filter had nothing to say.

Nick's new girl friend was pretty scary, and yet perfect for him? She always knew when to admit defeat and now was defiantly that time.

Sure she should have made a move for him, but by the time she got over her last failed attempt at happiness, he was already with someone new. That someone who is incontinently awesome.

She never in a million years would just elbow that guy, even though he was targeting her to begin with. But then again, that's Jess. Nice and flighty Jess, who could not stand up for herself.

But that's why she liked Nick so much. He made her stand up for herself. He may have been using selfish reason, but it was what she needed anyways. He was the person that was helping her come out of her shell lately and who could blame a gal for falling?

He did show signs of interests, though she denied it at first. But after a couple of months, she became custom to his snide remarks and he had taken a habit of saving her a seat next to him. She always knew he'd do the right thing with Cece and he expected her to grow a back bone and share what was bothering her.

It wasn't a match made in heaven by any means. He was still a bit cold hearted and she was usually really annoying. But they seemed to have become snug together lately. Their shared breakfast time and funny toothpaste chats. It was a little odd and yet was just what she wanted.

But now it's just awkward. Not that he's seeing someone else, but since their time together seemed to only increase of lately. He'd jump at any chance to go to the store with her, and always seemed to be watching a movie he knew she liked. It was as if he was trying to see her.

Maybe she's crazy or maybe she'd just hopeful. But as she looked over to him on the other couch smiling back at her as if he actually thought the movie was funny, she got the sudden feeling of doing something wrong.

He was with a cool and attractive chick and she felt like the other woman. But she knew deep down it wasn't her fault. Why was he trying so hard to hang out with her suddenly.

"Hey Nick?" He looked over once more with a raised eye brow.

"Where's your girl tonight?" He shrugged and looked back to the screen.

"Why? You trying to get rid of me?" He asked turning his cold demeanor back up.

"No just curious." She muttered feeling silly already. She perked up when the door was knocked. Nick was there in a flash greeting the topic of discussion. Her brown hair in a pony tail once more and her green top turning her brown eyes hazel, she really was beautiful.

But as he kissed her cheek and walked her over to the couch he settle sat between the girls. His leg touching Jess's as his hand grasped the others.

Her mind drifted briefly over the matter before he spoke up.

"This is one of Jess's favorite? Ever seen it?" She smiled slightly and knew right then that it wasn't just wishful thinking after all.
