A/N: So, I've finally done a tribute to one of my favorite Disney movies ever and, lo and behold, it's a drabble about my favorite villain ever! Yay... o.O

I have no life. I've accepted that.

Anyway, this drabble is 200 words. I hope it's not an over-used concept; I haven't read any Lion King fanfics so I don't know the rules of this place. ;D

Scar is just too much fun :)

He's spent his entire life in the shadows- first by force, then by choice, and for some reason that doesn't make it any more acceptable.

Mufasa, his brother, is a child of the sun, golden, magnificent, glorious (harsh, burning, cruel, and they think he is a god but no one ever asks his little brother where he got that nasty scar from, do they?) and a constant thorn in his side.

It takes plotting but he's good at that (much better than brother-dear, he's too soft to be a tactician) and, finally, he stands triumphantly above his brother. Noble, proud Mufasa pleads for help, panic in his great auburn eyes, and it feels right.

Mufasa falls divinely, a graceful arc, and it is his witless subjects who deliver the killing blow. It should be poetry for how cruel and merciless it is.

With blood gleaming on his claws and the screams of his brother (a little cub too, in the distance, sobbing his denial) echoing in his skull, he feels the pressure of hatred and jealousy lifted.

Relieved and weightless, his heart is soaring.

Scar tilts his muzzle up to the sky and the sun fills him with blinding warmth.

I don't know if there's an actual canon story for how Scar got his, you know, scar from, but I like to think that he got it from a fight with Mufasa when they were just cubs :)

Happy 2011, you guys!

Review, por favor? I accept all kinds :D
