Disclaimer: I do not own Percy Jackson.

Lost

Sally Jackson lied awake in bed; she just wished that she could get some sign to tell her that he son was okay. Something large, something obvious, something blue.

The memory came back to her. She remembers being off in the apartment waiting for the sign of blue, nothing at all had come and it was a few minutes after midnight. That's when suddenly the Empire State Building's top was completely blue!

"He's okay." She said to herself.

"Sally? Did you notice-" Paul had just walked in with water, when he saw the big smile on her face. "Percy?"

Sally felt herself nod, "He's safe."

Now Sally was doing the exact same thing, being eleven o'clock at night, she sat their and just waited, waited for the building to turn blue once again. Nothing ever happened. Nothing for the past seven months have happened, but she refused to lose hope. She knew deep down that her son was still alive.

Annabeth, Percys' girlfriend, had told her a month or so back that they had a general idea of where Percy was. That still hadn't helped, as they are going to be building a flying boat to get there. It should be ready soon, she hadn't heard from Annabeth since then.

Sally lied down in bed next to Paul and fell off into an uneasy sleep. Many of her dreams were of her waiting for Percy to get back from quests that he goes off on, but her final dream was seeing Percy for the first time after getting back from his first quest. She took that as a sign that something good was about to happen.

In the morning she did her normal routine then walked checked the phone to see that she had a voice message. It wasn't a number that she recognized but she would still listen to the voicemail, maybe it's a hint as to where Percy is.

She sighed and listened to the message. "Mom," Sally's breath away. It was Percy! It was her son, it was Percy Jackson! "Hey, I'm alive." A tear came to Sally's eyes just by hearing the sound of his voice, even if it might have sounded a bit stranded. "Hera put me to sleep for awhile, then she took my memory, and…" His voice had faltered; she really hoped that a monster hadn't suddenly attacked him. Then he continued again, "Anyway, I'm okay. I'm sorry. I'm on a quest-" She really didn't know if she should be relived to know that he is off doing something that he had done since he was eleven or worried, as every quest he seems to go on he ends up being in a life or death situation. Percy seemed to know that she was worried, "I'll make it home. I promise. Love you." By the end of the message Sally was crying.

Paul walked in to see her crying, "What's wrong, Sally?"

She just handed him the phone and he knew what to do. After he heard the message he hugged Sally, both were relived that Percy was okay.

After that, Sally tried to call back but realized that it was a pay phone. That part didn't worry her, she knew that demigods shouldn't have (or use) cell phones, what worried her was it was from Alaska. What was her baby doing in Alaska?

She had nothing that she could do but hope that Percy went through with his promise. Sally looked over one last time where she knew Olympus was, "Please Poseidon, keep Percy safe."
