"Sh sh sh Mary, you'll wake Cas!" I chided, picking up the tiny baby. As soon as she was in my arms she started to calm, but was still fussing. I sat down in the rocking chair by her crib and rocked us slowly, petting her head of dark brown hair. I looked down to see if she was asleep and my eyes were met by her bright green eyes, identical to mine. We stared at each other for a moment, then she buried her small face in my plaid shirt.
"Aw, my shy princess." I whispered kissing her head. I began to softly sing a sweet old rock song as we rocked and slowly as I sang, her grip on my shirt relaxed. I glanced down again to see that she was finally asleep again.
Carefully I got up and lay her back down in her crib, then made my way back to my own room. I smiled when I saw Cas sleeping peacefully. I went over and kissed his head of dark brown just as I had our daughter's.
"See ya later Cas, watch out for our little princess while I'm gone, got it." I whispered as I grabbed my duffel bag and headed out.
