Hey! This is the first of its kind crossover between High School DxD and Yu-Gi-Oh GX, but I couldn't help it, especially when Issei bears a remarkable resemblance to Judai, but his name sounds kind of like Yusei's. I spent my time writing this and the ideas just kept flowing out. I do hope you enjoy this!

A/N: For all the GX fans, Judai may seem to be a smarter, but he's Haou, a tactical genius. No Issei (in a sense) in this story, sorry.

Chapter 1 (Revised): A New Day

Life is all about balance, the scale between light and dark, good and evil, and the list goes on and on. From the day we're born, we try to find that middle ground between good and bad. Look at the fundamentals of life. The air we breathe is a special balance. Too much of one gas, and we suffocate. The place in which we live is another. Hot and cold are as well. Too hot? We die. Too cold? Same result. If that balance is tipped, the world is thrown into chaos. Life as we know it would cease to exist.

My name is Yuki Judai. I'm nineteen years old and a graduate of Duel Academia, top of my class, not that I would admit it. I have long, brown hair, the unruly kind that sticks out in behind my head, no matter how much gel I use, and matching brown eyes. I am one hundred seventy-three centimeters tall and weigh sixty-three kilograms. My blood type is O and my astrological sign is Aquarius, which I suppose has something to do with water, but I'm not sure.

Almost two years ago, a power awoke within me, one that gave me jurisdiction over light and darkness. That power governs all of existence, and thus, I was given the job of maintaining order within the world and amongst her people, behind the scenes, without recognition. From that point, I have operated in various countries around the world, dealing with the supernatural and natural alike. I've faced death as many times as there are stars in the sky My job is to keep peace; even if that means that it will cost me my life.

Strands of brown hair tickled his eyes as he skimmed through the compiled file of his newest assignment for a second time. Judai brushed them away with a flip of his wrist, closing the manila folder in the same motion. Something was amiss between the light and darkness in Tokyo and, lucky for him, he was the one the world turned to when something big was going down. His intel told him nothing, other than the basics and his new alias. He could sense that he'd be going in blind, not that he could go in guns blazing anyways… yet...

The teen tugged at the black, fitted blazer, adjusting the collar so that it stood straight. Under it was a striped, white, button-up shirt of which he left the top two buttons open, refusing to wear the bowtie included with the ensemble. To top off his dress code violation, he'd opted to wear dark blue skinny jeans as opposed to the standard black slacks. They felt tight and cheap, somewhat scratchy too, compared to the red blazer and black turtle-neck to which he was accustomed. What he would give for this new school to allow him the opportunity to wear his old school uniform. Scratch that… with all the sinister things he was sensing, he'd rather not sell his soul to the devil. Sighing, he tossed his brand new school bag onto a nearby park bench, following suit with his own body.

"Tell me why I was Haou's reincarnation again?" the brunette complained. "I never get a day's rest where my life doesn't hang in the balance or I can just relax."

"Fate's a bitch," a feminine voice resounded in his head. The teen laughed bitterly, popping open a plastic water bottle and taking a long swig.

"It could be a man, for all we know. Why does this imbalance have to happen in the middle of a school of all places?" he countered with a small grin. "It couldn't be in a terrorist cell or in some cool place? I suck at school. And I can't exactly go to one armed."

"Suck it up and deal with it. We can't investigate from the outside," the voice replied. "And a terrorist cell? Do you have a death wish?"

"But Yubel! I already graduated from school, I should be a college student, but it seems that fusing with you reversed my biological clock," the teen whined, waving a hand in his face. The voice, dubbed Yubel sighed, appearing next to him. Thankfully, the teen was the only one able to see her. She had blue and white hair. Half her body was masculine while the other half was distinctly feminine. Her dichromatic eyes glistened in the sunlight as the psychic eye on her forehead opened wider. "Besides, I'm bulletproof, or something like that. It's not like anyone's going to try to incinerate me with a dragon…"

"I wouldn't push my luck if I were you," she commented offhandedly, crossing her arms under her chest while rolling her eyes. "You have a habit of getting involved in things that veer off course. Do you plan on backing out this time?"

"That option exists?" Judai asked back hopefully while wrestling with his new uniform, letting out an angry grunt of indignation. "It's so stiff!"

"Stop complaining and deal with it. You're not a child anymore. It's bad enough that you're breaking rules before you've entered the school," the spirit admonished.

"Rules are made to be broken. After all, what's one more?"

"Always one for first impressions, no? "

"Of course I am. Why do you think I was such a hit at Duel Academia?"

"That ego of yours needs some adjusting."

"It's so like you to resort to violence," he countered, grinning wryly. Glancing at his watch, he noticed that there were mere minutes until the first bell and stood up, falling into a sprinting position. "Oh? Looks like I've gotta go."

The brunette teen had hardly broken a sweat as he burst through the main entrance of Kouh Academy in a full blown sprint. It amazed him that he'd managed to vault over three trucks, stop, drink water, help an old woman cross the street and still make it to his first day on time. He first noticed the woodwork, half impressed and half bored already. The aura of the of the prison government officials toted as "school" just made him sleepy.

"Excuse me, can you tell me where class 2-B is?" Judai asked a group of girls. They simply nodded, pointing in the direction of the room. He politely thanked them and wandered aimlessly in the general direction, almost instantly forgetting what they'd told him. As he started walking away, he heard the gasps and squeals of fangirls, turning around to see a blonde boy with hazel eyes as he made his way around the group, another following closely at his heels.

"Oh boy," he muttered to himself with a light chuckle. "There are people like that here? Interesting… I kind of feel bad for him, assuming he's not like Fubuki."

"Jealous, Judai?" Yubel taunted. He snorted.

"As if. I don't have time for that kind of thing. I'm just going to find a place to sleep," he replied. Someone was watching him, but with this many people in the halls, he'd have no way of finding out who. "By the way, don't appear around me while I'm here. Someone's watching."

Compared to Duel Academia, the classroom was rather unimpressive. He reasoned, however, that since Kaiba personally funded the academia, the school would always have the latest and greatest. Judai took stock of his surroundings once more, this time, of his new classroom, seating himself silently at the window as he observed the other students of his class slowly filter in. Nothing in particular caught his attention.

"Yubel, what if my instinct was wrong?" he asked his spirit partner. "There's a possibility that Industrial Illusions was incorrect."

"Your instinct? Your instinct only occurs in dueling and when your adrenaline is pumping. Haou is the one that does all the calculating," she replied, seated on the top of his desk. He leaned against the wall. "Besides, this was under the direction of Pegasus, remember. When was the last time he, Saiou-san, or Kagemaru-kaichou were wrong?""

"You say it as if we're two different people," he sighed. "Oh yeah, Pegasus-kaichou was the one who told us about this. Why is it that your logic is always flawless?" A loud yawn escaped his lips. His eyes were growing heavy. His head began to feel like lead.

"Hey, you're in my seat," a balding teen with semi-grey hair said suddenly, standing in front of Judai. The brunette grunted dangerously, opening one eye to look at the offending person blocking him from his sun.

"Get out of my sun," Judai grumbled, standing up and preparing to find another window seat. After his return from the Other World, the students of Duel Academia had learned how dangerous it was to bother a sleeping or sun-bathing Yuki Judai. Fubuki and Kenzan had wound up with broken bones. Perhaps he would teach these students the same thing…

"Don't you dare, Judai," Yubel threatened. He mumbled something that sounded like a counter-threat under his breath. "Do you want to test me?"

"Say, I don't think I've seen you around here before," a teen with thick glasses said, examining the brunette carefully. He was well-built with a gentle, kind-looking face. However, there was a sense of danger exuded from him, mostly from his sharp eyes that observed like a hawk and the fact that his mouth was drawn into a tight, serious line.

"You could say I'm new here. Hyoudou Issei," he greeted, extending his hand.

"Motohama," the teen with glasses nodded.

"Matsuda," the other teen smirked.

"Tell me," Motohama said, adjusting his glasses. "Do you like breasts?"

"Oh god," Yubel sighed, knowing where it was going. Judai, on the other hand, didn't, or at least pretended that he didn't. "Ju-"

"They taste good fried," Judai offered with a small, evil grin. The two stared at him blankly before screaming. "Grilled ones tasted good too."

"Why would you do that?" Matsuda exclaimed, tears rushing down his cheeks.

"What kind of sadist are you?" Motohama yelled. "Poor women!"

"You guys don't like chicken?" Judai asked, confused. They blinked dumbly.

"We're talking about… women's breasts!" Matsuda yelled. Judai turned a faint red, alarm bells ringing in his mind. He could hear Yubel mutter something like "dumbass," but wasn't quite sure.

"Eww… it's those two. They brought their friend too," two girls said as they walked past. Both party's reactions unnerved Judai a bit. "Perverts..."

"Yeah… I'm going to go now," the brunette said hastily, inching his way out of the chair, preferably to the one farthest away from these guys. At that point, it didn't matter if he was giving up his sun. It was then that he saw her. The two made eye contact, her blue-green eyes piercing his brown ones. She gave him a faint smile, almost predatory, yet seductive. With her was another girl, one with long black hair drawn into a pony-tail.

"W-What was that all about?"

"That's third-year Rias Gremory-senpai, the greatest Onee-sama of this fine establishment. There's a rumor that she comes from Scandanavia," Motohama explained, adjusting his glasses and going on to give him some random numbers he could care less about. "With her was Himejima Akeno-senpai, the other greatest Onee-sama."

"Is that so?" Judai asked, pulling out his phone and dialing in O'Brien's phone number. The two perverts grinned, misinterpreting his action. "Please, tell me more."

"There's something… off… in this school," the buxom strawberry blonde, Rias Gremory, mused as she sat down on a couch, staring intently at the preset chess board before her. Another girl, the black-haired beauty, Himejima Akeno, entered the room, her flowing hair trailing her as she brought in a cup of tea on a silver platter. The room they were in was elaborately decorated with antiques of all kinds. The furniture appeared to be Victorian, or of expensive European craftsmanship. There was a desk, two couches, a coffee table, and oddly, a shower in the corner of the room.

"Ara, what could that be?" Akeno smiled. "Could you be talking about that boy?"

"Yes," she nodded, examining the board in front of her with its oddly glowing red pieces.

"What does he look like?"

"I didn't really get a good look at him. I just saw his eyes. They were dark brown." She moved a piece, a pawn, her red hair swaying to and fro with her body movements.

"Do you think he's an angel?"

"No, he felt too dark for that; a fallen one perhaps… Why would they send one into enemy territory, though? Wouldn't that be a declaration of war? While it is a possibility, I don't think he's one."

"Ara, how mysterious! Perhaps I should look into this boy a little more. The possibility of a fallen angel we don't know about… perhaps he's a vagabond?"

"Checkmate," Rias declared, standing up from the couch. "Please try to make this more challenging next time. As such, look into that boy for me as well. I'm going to observe for a while."

"As you wish, Rias," Akeno nodded, examining the board.

"Judai, why are you doing this?" Yubel asked, as her partner followed Motohama and Matsuda. Her premonition was telling her to run.

"I have to make friends. Otherwise, I won't be able to understand anything here. These guys seem knowledgeable," Judai offered weakly trying to smile.

"Seriously? These guys are perverts," Yubel growled. Judai sighed dejectedly.

"I know," he muttered, his eyes locked to his feet. "It hasn't been eight hours and I already have a bad feeling about this. Do you think there's such thing as a normal person in this world? Do you think I'll find one?" There was a small tear in his eye looked up and noticed a building ahead of them. "What's this?"

The perverted duo grinned. They had found another like them, or so they thought. They'd almost died from blood rushing to a certain area when they saw the busty girl on the new kid's phone's wallpaper. A natural Japanese blonde with a dynamite body like that? How much more exotic could girls get? For almost an hour, they'd asked him, badgered him, about her three sizes, not that he actually knew.

"I can't believe they talked about Asuka that way," Judai growled, glaring almost hatefully at backs of the two. "I guess there are more Manjoumes in the world than I imagined. If she were here, they'd be dead already."

"I can't believe you're still with these idiots." He shook his head.

"I can't either.

The other two were busy staring through a peephole in the wall, making lewd noises that disgusted the spirit to no end. She wished so much that she could just wipe these two from existence, but Judai simply wouldn't let her since they'd become hypocrites… like Judai had said, fate was a bitch. They sighed simultaneously.

"Guys, what's this? I feel some sort of… danger… here," Judai asked cautiously, but a little too loud. The other two froze as Judai heard muffled voices from the other side of the wall. Before he could say something else, they bolted, knocking Judai down in the process. "S-Shit… Why am I always in the wrong place at the wrong time?" His head was spinning as he saw a group of robed girls standing over him with wooden kendo sticks in their hands. "Uh- Good afternoon, ladies… Nice day, isn't it?" he grinned nervously before taking off in an inhuman sprint. They took off behind him, trying to whack him with the sticks, missing most of the time.

"What the hell was that?" Judai screamed, barely controlling himself enough not to burn them to a crisp with Flame Wingman. The trio had converged at what looked like an old school building, panting heavily. "I almost got killed because you idiots led me to some dangerous place!"

"We were simply observing the beauty of ladies," Motohama replied adjusting his glasses. The brunette was starting to think that it was a habit. What he would give to shatter those glasses at that given moment.

"Morons... Give me one reason why…" He turned to leave when he noticed a dark aura surrounding the building behind them. His eyes flashed orange and turquoise momentarily before reverting back to their original hue of brown. The red-haired girl from before was looking out the window directly at him. He froze. The two made eye contact again before she turned away, vanishing behind the curtains of the room.

"You seem to like Rias-senpai," Motohama stated. Judai turned around, an eyebrow raised.

"Pardon?" he asked. "Do you want me to kill you?" The two shrank back.

"You must have high standards for girls," Matsuda added, pointing at the phone that was sticking out of his pocket.

Without a word, Judai walked away. He mentally decided that he would check out that building later, while he could still claim the ignorance of being a new student. The only trouble he'd have would be explaining his eye colour. Dichromatic eyes were an extremely rare natural occurrence, but glowing dichromatic eyes were literally unnatural... for humans anyways. He laughed. He wasn't technically human, he wasn't technically demon. He wasn't technically anything humanly explainable.

Everyone was long gone before he decided to check out the old building, much to his two "friends" chagrin. Motohama wanted to show him his video collection, but Judai politely declined, absently wondering if they understood what dislike was. Silently slipping through the door to the old building, his eyes immediately changed to their unnatural dichromatic colour. However, this time, it was different. The outer edges shimmered with a sharp, cold and calculating gold.

The Herald of Gentle Darkness felt as if he was suffocating under the intensity of the dark magic he was feeling as he made his way deeper and deeper into the building. At the end of a hall or the second floor, he came upon a large oak door. Pushing it slightly, he found that it was unlocked, and slightly ajar. He made his way in cautiously, examining the European furniture in the room. There was definitely something going on in here.

"It's a little late for students to be wandering the halls of the school, no? Most clubs have gone home already," a feminine voice from behind him called. Judai stopped as footsteps came closer. He blinked, disabling Yubel's and Haou's powers. The pressure from before had almost completely vanished. So only magical beings could sense this power, he thought to himself.

"What about you? I just wanted to do some exploring," the brunette laughed innocently, hiding his face behind his hair and hoping his charade would work. He kept his back to her, stepping forward in tune with her strides as he gauged the distance between them. "Nice room you got here, by the way, but I think I should be going. Sorry for the intrusion."

"Hold it," she smiled dangerously, grabbing the arm of his jacket. "Can't I see the face of the person I'm talking to? It's not polite to look away from the person with whom your speaking."

"You'd be sick if you did," he replied, a hint of humour and banter evident in his voice. He removed the hand from his jacket and took off toward the main corridor, hoping he wouldn't have to use a window as his escape route this time. Slowing to a walk when he realized he wasn't being chased, he scratched the back of his head, confused. "That was seriously creepy."

"I know," Yubel muttered, materializing next to him.

"You felt the intensity of that, didn't you? Just what's happening in there?

"That was rather unusual," she agreed. "Should we observe some more?"

He grinned, climbing a tree near the window of the room. "Took the words right out of my mouth," he commented offhandedly, noticing it was the same redhead from before, Rias Gremory, is his memory served him correctly. As a safety precaution, he made his aura virtually dead to avoid detection.

"Oh? What's that? Inviting boys for one-on-one interviews?" Akeno giggled, entering the room with a small, white-haired girl in tow. "Who was that?"

"He came in here saying he was just exploring, but he was up to something. Anyways, did you get the name of the new kid?" Rias asked. Judai watched the entire thing with heightened eyesight and hearing. He wouldn't tell his new "friends" this, but he could literally see and hear through walls, the perks of his new powers.

"No, it seems that he has no record other than the confidential one in the administrator's files," Aneko replied. "But even that one seems fake. His information is partially counterfeit and quite well crafted. Most of it, other than a P.O. Box is locked on a computer guarded by a live, four layer encryption, not that that was a problem."

"Confidential? Fake? Four layer encryption? Is he a spy or something?"

"Yes. It would appear that he took great lengths so that he would only be known by those he wants to know him."

"I see. Why would someone want that much privacy?" Rias asked. This boy, just by looking at him, was perplexing.

"He can sense our magic," the small girl said finally, her voice devoid of emotion. Both older women looked at her curiously.

"Koneko-chan!" Rias exclaimed. "Didn't you go home?"

"I was watching the boy snoop."

"Really? Did you see his face?"

"No," she replied again.

"Then what did you see?" Aneko asked.

"Brown hair, dual-coloured eyes."

"Do you think it's a possessed human?" Aneko mumbled thoughtfully. The redhead contemplated for a moment that possibility. The boy from earlier, the one she'd seen outside, the one with the dual-toned brown hair and split-second dichromatic eyes, the one with the confidential file. Who was he? Why was he here? Outside, Judai froze. They'd been spying and researching. They weren't as stupid as he initially thought, rather, they took action faster than he expected, a major roadblock if he wanted to get in and out quickly and quietly. He was treading deep water now. Scratch that, he was in international, shark infested waters without a boat or even a life vest. He'd have to finish soon or drown.

"Rias?" Aneko called, snapping the buxom redhead out of her trance.

"No, he's not possessed," she determined finally. Both girls looked at Rias, slightly confused.

"I don't understand."

"He was perfectly in control. There were no magical strings attached to him. Earlier today, I saw a boy standing outside our building, looking at it momentarily with the eyes Koneko-chan just described. He was definitely looking for something," she said. "I think it might be the same boy."

"What are these people?" Judai muttered as he eavesdropped further on their conversation.

"Dangerous. We should go," Yubel said. With that, he leapt out of the tree, landing on silently on the cobblestone pathway, his jacket fluttering majestically behind him, as if it were a cape.

"Koneko-chan? What's wrong?"

"He was listening," she replied, not showing any emotion.

"But how? We would have noticed if he was spying on us," the redhead half exclaimed.

"Ara, interesting…" Aneko giggled.

"He hid his powers until he jumped off that tree," Koneko explained pointing to the tree near the window.

"B-but he'd have to be dead for us not to notice him!"

"We haven't encountered his powers before."

"Then we'll just have to set up a trap for our suspicious guest," Rias smirked. "If he wants to play a game, we'll play. I'll accept your challenge, transfer student!"

"Crap… what have I gotten myself into?" Judai groaned as he seated himself in a booth, burger in hand. It was midnight and he had just finished reporting the information he had to O'Brien, who would help him by researching. With the personal assistance of Pegasus, who had access to Kaiba Corporation's satellite network and the leading occult research team consisting of O'Brien, himself, Kagemaru, and Takuma Saiou, most jobs were a cinch.

"If we had a choice, I would have said that we should back out," Yubel said gravely. "My intuition is telling me that whatever these people are is bad news. The magic in the building was proof enough. By the way, it reacted quite poorly with your power. If you'd let out anymore, it might have been fatal."

"You got that feeling too?"

"That and some other things. Tell me, have you been hearing a voice lately?" she asked.

"You mean besides yours?" he half-joked. He faltered, noticing that she was dead serious, and shook his head. "Why?

"Something is trying to invade your body," she explained. "It seems something else wants to use you as a vessel."

"What am I? A condom?" he grumbled, wanting to eat the rest of his meal in silence. Someone was looking at him. He turned, finding a cute girl with mid-length black hair and violet eyes staring at him. Casually raising an eyebrow, he opened his mouth to speak, making sure to swallow his food first. She giggled nervously. "May I help you?"

"I-Is t-this seat taken?" she stuttered cutely, motioning to the seat in front of him. She was wearing a white blouse and a short black skirt, typical spring attire that fit her very well. Judging by her age, she was a high school student, which made him wonder why she was out so late. Then again, the same could be said about me, he thought to himself.

"No, it's not," he replied flatly, discreetly looking around to find that the restaurant was virtually empty. "Why sit here when there are so many open seats?"

"I-I couldn't help but notice you," she replied, red dusting her cheeks.

"Um- thank you?"

"I was wondering if you're seeing someone," she asked hopefully.

"Judai, be careful. There's something off about this girl," Yubel warned. "It's an act."

Got it. Let's just see where this is going. We'll figure it out from there, he replied in thought. She's not human. I don't think she's a spirit either.

"Just don't act too rashly."

"T-Then I-I was wondering i-if you'd go out with me."

"Sure," he smiled gently, extending his hand for her to shake. "I'd love to. What's your name? I'm Hyoudou Issei."

"I'm Yuuma Amano," she smiled cutely, seemingly relieved. "Can we go this Sunday?"

The Next Day…

"Say, you guys seem to know all the girls. Do you know this one?" Judai asked, showing Matsuda and Motohama a picture of Yuuma after class. They froze, awed by the sight of a beautiful girl. Asking them, as much as he'd wanted to avoid it, seemed to be his best bet.

"Who is that?" Motohama exclaimed.

"She has huge breasts!" Matsuda cried with glee, catching the attention of some of the female students, who shot the three disgusted stares.

"Know what? Never mind," Judai grumbled, turning to leave. He'd return in the dead of night, when he was sure no one would be there. Awed gasps filled the room as Judai adjusted the bag on his back.

"R-R-R-Rias-senpai!" Motohama exclaimed.

"Such beauty!" Matsuda cried, tears rushing down his face. "To be graced with the presence of a goddess!"

Everyone gasped as the queen, the idol, of Kouh Academy made her way to the newest and unwilling victim of the newly formed perverted trio. He'd known she'd be coming. Judging by the conversation he'd heard the night before, his cover identity was already discovered.

"I've got to go. So many… breasts… to grope," Judai ground out, disgusted with the bad taste it left in his mouth. He was hoping that the redhead would be deterred by his statement. He hid his eyes under sunglasses as he covered the rest of his face with his hair. Other girls reacted as intended, but she didn't seem to mind. Instead, she seemed intent on speaking with him. He tried to move past her, but every time he moved in a direction, she moved the same way. She was toying with him.

"Excuse me, but can you move please?" he asked politely. "I have a date tonight and I need to get ready."

"Wha?" Motohama and Matsuda exclaimed.

"T-that traitor…"

"H-Has a girlfriend!?"

"How about we trade? I'd like to see your face. If you show me, I'll let you through," Rias smiled. "Your file doesn't have a picture attached to it."

"I-I'm rather shy," he sighed, impressed with his own acting. "You're rather persistent, Rias Gremory, but I think I'll decline your offer. I like to keep certain things private"

"Shy? I doubt it. It hurts that you know my name, yet I know nothing about yours. Hyoudou Issei? Is that really your name? You're quite the enigma," she smirked, leaving a pause, hoping he'd give her a name. He'd realized that the moment she did it. He almost fell right into her trap, too. Everyone in the room was confused. What was going on? Why did the queen have such an interest in the perverted new kid? "I just want to get to know my underclassmen better."

"I'm afraid that my name is none of your concern, but that is my legal name," he replied. Everyone gasped. Was she interested in this guy and he was playing hard to get? "If you want to see my face, feel free to search for it on the internet. I'm sure you'll find something."

"It'd be nice to know," she offered. "And I'm not very savvy with computers."

"That's a shame, but I really must go," he replied. "I'm not interested in introducing myself."

"It's a shame I can't let you go, then; not until I get a name, your real one, at the very least," she smirked.

"Tenjoin… Fubuki…" he said simply, glancing at the screen on the phone in his hand.

"Do you expect me to believe you share a name with a pop idol?" she asked, expressing mock hurt. At that moment, his phone sounded off. He answered the call, not once raising his head. "If you're really him, I expected someone more… flamboyant…"

"No, I didn't. And I'm not him either. I'm just reading the caller I.D. on my phone. Now, if you'll excuse me…"

"Huh?"

"Oi! Fubuki! Thanks for calling me on such short notice…" he greeted cheerfully, doing away with the heavy atmosphere almost instantly. Impeccable timing... Girls in the room gasped. This scum knew the Tenjoin Fubuki, the hottest pop idol since the beginning of celebrities? Just who was he? Rias blinked, not expecting the turn of events either.

"Yeah, I can't ask Asuka for help. She'd kill me for not going out with her. Yeah, I know. I don't want to hurt her. Besides, I think she'd be happier with Kaiser or even Manjoume. I'd hinder her chances of anything if I keep sticking around her," Judai said into the phone. More people gasped. Ryo? As in Marufuji 'Kaiser' Ryo? Manjoume? As in Manjoume Jun?

"Yes, I need your help. I don't know the first thing about dating," he said, forcefully brushing Rias to the side with a small smirk on his face.

"Thanks for that, Fubuki," Judai said the moment he'd gotten past Rias. "I know this girl who'd try to trap me. Sorry I had to have you call me like this. Say hi to Asuka for me."

"What just happened?" half the room muttered.

Rias Gremory growled as she snapped a white king piece in half. "Ara, cunning, isn't he?" Akeno smiled, looking up from her magazine.

"That bastard knew what was going to happen!" the redhead growled. "He outsmarted me! I'm a tactical genius amongst devils and he outsmarted me!"

"He really is a slippery one."

"I will not be beat by this human!" she screamed, frustrated. A broad grin suddenly spread across her face.

"You've taken a great deal of interest in him," the raven haired beauty giggled.

"My pride is at stake here, Akeno. Perhaps we should step up our game? If he's playing chess with us, that's a game I know he won't win."

"Oi! Yuuma!" Judai called out, leaning against the plastic of an advertising sign. The cute girl turned around, searching for the origin of the voice before noticing him.

"Judai-kun!" she smiled happily, waving to him from the other end of the sidewalk. "I'm sorry I'm late."

"It's fine," he smiled, extending his hand for her to take. "So, shall go?"

Judai felt he was doing pretty well for a first timer. They'd gotten food, walked around, talked, and did dating… stuff… If he ever retired from saving the world, he could pursue an acting career in America. The sun had begun to set as she grabbed his hand, leading to a fountain in the middle of a park. For some reason, it was empty.

"This was such a great date!" she cheered, whirling around in front of him. "We should do this again!"

"I had a lot of fun," he agreed.

"I do have one request," she said, bowing her head. "Would you hear it, Judai-kun?

"What's that?" he asked curiously. Her face turned sinister and her voice grew cold.

"Would you die for me?" she asked.

"Come again?" he asked, an ominous feeling bursting through him as he instinctively reached for his deck. His eyes flashed, turning orange and teal.

"Would you die for me?" she asked again.

"This must be some kind of joke," he growled. She giggled darkly. In an instant, black feathered wings burst from her back as her clothes disappeared completely. In their stead, black leather covered her intimate parts, as if they were bondage gear. He chucked darkly.

"You put on a good poker face," she cooed forming a spear of blinding light in her hand. "I must say that your acting is quite nice too, but you're just in over your head."

"No poker face," Judai smirked. "I just knew what was going to happen. And who are you to decide whether I'm in over my head or not?"

"What?" she exclaimed.

"I'm not as stupid as you think. Our time together was enjoyable though," he offered. "Too bad you aren't actually interested in me."

"I'm really going to kill you, you useless, lecherous brat! If you want anyone to blame for your untimely death, you can blame the gods for bestowing upon you a sacred gear," she taunted. "One that we find dangerous."

"It seems that this chick's lost her mind," he quipped.

"Die!" she screamed, throwing the spear with deadly accuracy. She froze as it shattered against his chest. "What?"

"See, I can't be killed with that sort of thing at the moment," he growled. She gasped. His eyes were hollow. They weren't glowing in a heterochromatic scheme, but pure gold, as beautiful as the sun. His glare was enough to melt ice as he released an aura blacker than night.

"What? A-A devil? Impossible! Devils aren't born with Sacred Gears!"

"They call me the Emissary of Gentle Darkness. It's my job to keep balance in this universe and the next. Guess what? You've really pissed me off," he growled, engaging his dark duel disk. He flared his aura, sending her flying backward into the fountain. "You can't beat me," he said, walking slowly and deliberately as Yubel's wings sprang from his back. "Neos, shoukan." A white warrior emerged from a crest, standing proudly at his side.

"You're a demon who's impervious to the light spear?" she stuttered, her eyes widening. The facemask on his helmet slid over his face.

"No, I'm not a demon. One would say that I'm part demon, but that's not important. Now, who sent you and why have you come for me?" he growled, his voice hollow and metallic. She didn't answer. Instead she disappeared in a whirlwind of feathers, reminding him of his first encounter with Honest. He noticed a flash of red light behind him.

"Oh my, it would appear we're too late," a feminine voice cooed.

"Who are you?" another voice, Rias's, demanded. By then, it was too dark for them to identify him, so Judai didn't respond. He didn't even turn around. Instead, he raised a hand, his dark aura flaring once more as he vanished without a trace, the warrior next to him fading away from existence.

Judai staggered as he fell sloppily onto his bed. His parents weren't particularly thrilled with him returning home looking like he had a hangover, so he explained his situation, partially. He groaned as he fell onto his bed, letting out a muffled scream. Everything was going wrong. Not only did he have to observe someone, but a new enemy, intent on killing him appeared.

"It seems you're frustrated," Yubel observed.

"Got that right," he muttered. "I'm a little dizzy from summoning all that power. I need to sleep."

"Go right ahead. I'll keep watch."

"You sure?"

She materialized, sitting at the foot of his bed to reassure him. A small nod of appreciation and he was fast asleep, a looming sense of dread prevalent in his mind.

He got up, did his morning routine, and poured himself copious amounts of coffee, hoping to get rid of the splitting headache that shot though his skull like lightning. He shrugged into his uniform jacket slowly and a pulled a hooded sweatshirt over that as he left his empty house, the bright glare of the sun making it more unbearable.

"Now I know why Fubuki says that sunglasses are great," Judai muttered as he stalked silently into the school, taking his place in the back of his classroom. The killing aura he emitted seemed to deter students form bothering him, for the moment.

"It seems that your 'friends' are absent," Yubel smiled in relief. Judai groaned, pulling the hood of the coat even further over his head. "Too soon? That girl's not here either."

"Oi, Issei!" Matsuda greeted, worsening Judai's headache.

"It seems you spoke to soon," Judai muttered to Yubel, who shrugged. "I officially give you permission to wipe them from the face of the earth."

"Ah, Issei," Motohama greeted, pulling out a DVD, "do you know what this is?"

"I'm not particularly in the mood," the brunette muttered, tugging harder at the hood. "And I'm a little under the weather, so please…"

The two went on to talk about their usual perverted topics. He ignored them, dreading the bell that signaled the start of class, which rang with a ferocity he didn't know existed. By then, he was on the verge of tears. Even the teacher's talking hurt his head initially, but eventually, the pain subsided, replaced with subtle irritation.

"I can't believe I expended so much power just for an escape. It's like there was a barrier or something," Judai sighed as he leaned against a wall in the main courtyard. The light still hurt his head, so he kept the sunglasses on. "I was set up."

"There was a barrier, but it wasn't as strong as I expected. I think it would have been a good idea if you used my energy instead of Haou's power," Yubel said.

"I can't rely on you for everything," he laughed.

"So who're you talking to?" a familiar voice sounded right in front of him. A frown made its way to his lips as he slid onto the grass, burying his face in his hands.

"Great… not this again," he sighed.

"And power to escape?" she pressed.

"I spent too much time on a video game last night," he lied, irritation laced in his voice. "I'm a little under the weather, so can you save this for another day?" She shook her head.

"I never would have guessed. By the looks of it, you were drinking too much, or you were caught off guard by a fallen angel," she smiled, leaning closer toward his hidden face. He could smell the scent of her hair, which brushed into his eyes. "I'm still interested in finding out your name. Hyoudou Issei is obviously not your name. In fact, it doesn't exist."

"You know, you're really starting to get on my nerves," he growled. "… Hold on… did you just say fallen angel?"

"Feisty! I like it," she winked. "And it seems you know exactly what I'm talking about."

"No way!? You play RPG's too?" he exclaimed. "That's awesome!"

She sat next to him, so that her body was pressed against the side of his. He growled angrily, trying to get her to back away from him. It didn't work. Instead, the "Great Onee-sama" simply rested her head on his shoulder, gathering the attention of the students in the courtyard. "Do you know the meaning of personal space?"

"Oh my, it seems that he's getting angry," Aneko giggled as she approached the two.

"Judai, they're trying to get you to release your power," Yubel warned.

"Yeah, I know," he muttered out loud, too tired to care.

"You know what?" Rias asked curiously.

"I'm going."

"Is that so?" Aneko asked, raising an eyebrow.

"It was fun talking with you ladies," he said sarcastically, trying to force his way past the two. They wouldn't budge. Rias grinned wolfishly as she pinned his arms the walls behind him. Some guys' eyes widened.

"At least let me remove your hood so that I can see your face," she cooed, pushing herself against him. His resolve faltered slightly.

"Judai! They're trying to seduce you," Yubel warned.

"Don't you think I know that already," he snapped before groaning. "She's really soft."

"Hormones… and here I thought that you were impotent," the spirit muttered. Rias reached for Judai's hood. Ducking under her hand, he kicked off the floor, aiming a knee at her jaw. Bystanders gasped. A fight? Someone dared attack the queen? She leaned back, narrowly avoiding the strike, tightening her grasp on his wrists.

"Should I scream rape?"

"A name?" she pressed.

"Didn't you say it was Hyoudou Issei?" he asked.

"Yes, but you didn't," she smirked.

"I see," he replied. "You're quite the strategist, Gremory."

"So I've been told," she smirked.

"But you're not good enough," he said ominously. Her eyes widened as he flipped into the air one more time and wrapped his legs around her head, forcefully slamming her head into the grass, releasing her loosened grip on his wrists as he took off in a sprint, again.

The male population of the school growled in rage. The new kid actually struck the queen! The female population gasped. He attacked her when he could have told her to back off. They weren't going to allow him to get through. Judai, however, anticipated this and used one of the benches to vault into a perfect somersault, landing right behind the mob and leaving through the main gate of the school.

"He just…" Rias groaned.

"Oh my, he's good," Aneko giggled.
