Baby Brother

"'Lita, come say hi to your new baby brother."

The toddler walked up to her mother who was holding an infant sparkling in her arms. His eyes were closed, the hum of his spark dosing softly. Elita smiled. She wanted to play with him. Carry him around like a doll and have adventures. She tried to reach for his face. She waved her arm frantically.

"Ah, Elita, no, don't hit Steelfist...!"

Her smile disappeared. Mommy didn't want her to play with him. But why? Didn't mommy want her to have fun?

"Wheeljack..."

Turning, she smiled once she saw daddy. If mommy and baby wouldn't play with her, maybe daddy will.

"Hey, kid...!" He ruffled his hand on her head.

Elita giggled.

"She's just excited to see Steelfist, 'Cee... Let her get to know her brother."

"He's sleeping..."

"We'll be extra careful," he said. "Just hold her down then put Steel on her lap. We'll be watching her all the way."

Mommy sighed. "Alright, then..."

Daddy gestured Elita to sit next him on the bed. "Here, 'Lita...!"

She went beside him eagerly, giggling all the way. What game could he possibly have in store for her? Mommy handled Steelfist to daddy, and soon, the infant was on her lap. His eyes were closed. He was sleeping. She giggled. The smile couldn't come off her face. She began to wave her arms around him. Suddenly, she felt daddy's hands on her limbs.

"Don't do that, Elita, you'll wake him up."

She turned back to her brother. A giggle bubble left her system and smiled again. She saw Steelfist's optics slowly opening, though they ended up closing again.

"You did good," daddy said.

Elita looked over towards them, and gave them a smile. Laughter left her insides. Turning to Steelfist she closed her eyes and kissed his forehead.

Mommy chuckled. "They're you're kids... She was a bit of a handful when she was born, though I don't think she got it from me."

"At least she's beautiful as you."

"Flatterer."

A kiss was heard from behind her.

"It was a good name we picked for him, wasn't it?"

"My dad and your dad? It was a bit hard trying to decide Steelhide or Ironfist, but I'm glad we found a name for him. They'd be so proud of them... wouldn't they?"

"Yeah... I'm sure they'd love their grandkids."
