Notes: The ending was so so good. Tears. Hehe.
Buffy's Poem: goodbye
"Goodbye William"
To be free of my pain
I'm letting you go
All of your stupidity
Your love
Your angled cheekbones
And blue eyes
I'm getting out of this rut
And climbing out of the ditch
I've been down long enough
Not able to see myself in the mirror
"Goodbye William"
I believe you love me
But I can't and I won't love you
It's better this way
You'll forget my kisses
My body
My using you
You'll forget you were good
-But try not to
I realize now it's all part of who you are
And In some way I respect that
As I should respect myself
"Goodbye William"
Someday you'll forgive me
And I will forgive myself
For hurting you
If you love me
You'll let me walk in the sun
And be free from the night
Spike's Poem: I'll Miss You
I love you.
Ask me again
Anytime
My answer is always the same
So how can you stop now, say goodbye?
Treat me like an equal
And walk away
What epiphany is this?
Nothing has changed
He hasn't changed a damn thing
He has nothing to do with us.
Why won't you let me make you happy?
I did it for you.
You know it.
God Buffy, do you think I like the burger smell?
That I like knowing you cry alone every night?
Just as long as I've had my fun?
I love you.
The words are always the same,
Full of the same meaning.
I'd rather have part of you than none.
But you're too good for that.
So I'll understand
And I'll watch you go,
Because I miss the old Buffy.
