Roses

Dear Caroline, my wife,

I left this as a special gift to you and a promise that I shall return to you. You needn't worry about my well being. I am fine as of the moment. And don't cry, my dear sweet rose. I shall return to you, as I have said previously. You will know when you see me. I love you.

Always yours,

Erik

P.S. You sounded beautiful tonight when you sang at your performance.

As Caroline held the letter in her hands, warm tears began to flow down her face as she held two objects in her hand, the rose and their wedding ring. It made her think about all the times roses were left or given to her. On her birthday, well that was with the Masquerade ordeal when Erik came as the Red Death, and began issuing orders. That is, until he began singing about Caroline and how he loved her so dearly. Then, their gazes were stuck on each other strongly, as they neared the other with their lips nearly touching…

And then, there was another time when after the events in the final lair happened, Erik gave her a rose and told her that he would return to her soon.

And now, this third rose that was sent was enough to prove that his promise would always be kept, and nothing bad was going to ever keep him from keeping it. Caroline smiled so happily and held the letter, rose, and wedding ring to her chest gently as she sang familiar lyrics:

"Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime…say the word, and I will follow you…share each day with me, each night each morning…say you love me…"

"You know I do," an angelic and masculine voice echoed. It was him! Erik!

"Love me, that's all I ask of you…" Caroline sang to herself as she was alone once more. Now she had full confidence, happiness, and belief that Erik will come back and will always love and cherish his wife forever.

I know this was suckish. No flames. Constructive criticism, please!
