Link stood at the giant door, the barrier separating him from Zelda. He placed his hand on the cold stone. Zelda had fallen asleep. Sleeping was something Link was all too familiar with, but he never knew it could hurt this much. Not this much.
"Who's the sleepyhead now?" I whispered. "Zelda... i'm no hero. I just want you to wake up. I miss you a lot. Chosen hero, huh. I thought I could do it. But- but the truth is I don't... I can't... it feels like everytime I get close to solving something..."
I sighed. "It just gets worse! It just... It won't get better. And it feels like I'm running out of time. I wanna save you! I want you to wake up, and that Demon Lord to leave me alone, and The Imprisoned to stop coming back, and and..." I took a shaky breath.
" How can I go forward if it feels like i'm just going back, Zelda? How?" I couldn't stop my voice from shaking and a tear forcing it's way out of my eye. "I-"
"Go, chosen hero. Do not doubt yourself." a voice came from inside the door.
"Zelda." I felt so relieved.
"Oi, Link!" Groose's voice came from the other door.
"Huh?" I turned around.
"It escaped again! C'mon do your thing!" Groose laughed.
I turned and took on last glance at the great stone door.
"Yeah." I smiled at Groose and wiped my eyes. "Let's go."
"Link, you crying?"
"Nope. Fire up the Groosenator. As long as we don't doubt ourselves," an image of Zelda flashed in my mind, " we won't fail."
