"Darling, it's rather a dangerous thing for you to leave your door unlocked, leave yourself unprotected. Any sort of horrible creature could come right in, and I happen to be just that."

Since day one Lucas had told me leaving that damn door unlocked would one day be the death of me, back when I started this new trend I was hoping for just that, and my end had finally come.

(and during the entire time my legs were frozen in place as I faced something that held more even then I had ever seen before)

"Running or screaming those lovely lungs out will not help you, Peyton, and if you try either I'll crush the life out of you. We wouldn't like that; we haven't even had any fun yet, now would we?"

Before I could even think about running, knowing that it would not do any good and that those menacing hands would find me and steal my life, he had ahold of me and I got a good look at the monster he was hiding inside.

(and those loud screams, about the fangs that were hanging over his smirking lips, were caught deep inside and I was speechless for the first time)

"Good girl, you should be so damn afraid, I believe I can feel you shaking in your boots. Now the next thing to talk about is whether these shiny teeth of mine will be making a meal out of you? I do enjoy blonds, their after all my favorite snacks."

Those fangs, I found my eyes locked on them and nothing else (besides those yellow eyes of his), were so close to ripping away my life but stopped in mid-air as Lucas came rushing in.

(and this time he would have no idea that he saved me once again)

"It seems our evening of fun as been cut short, darling, but do not worry a little bit it won't be long before I come back for the supple neck of yours. After all I never leave anything unfinished, and think about this, sweetheart, if I'm feeling good you might have a pair of fangs in your size."

In a matter of seconds he was gone slipping back into the night, making an innocent person a replacement for me (and to think if Lucas had not come I would be one dead duck), and I was left still frozen to the same spot.

(even after he gone I could still feel his cold hands wrapped around me)

"Peyton! Are you okay? What happened to you, and who the hell was that?"

The only mistake he made that night, besides not taking me into death's iron grip right there and then (and giving me a pair of shining teeth), was telling me that he would be back for me.

"I'm fine and that was a living, not breathing, vampire, and I think I might have to move."

(but even if I moved a hundred times since tonight he still would have found me anyway with that smirk still in place)
