A silent cry
A useless plea.
Unheard and unseen.
A tale untold by legend
And other glorified books
Is the tale of the one who lost.
The tale of one who made a mistake.
The one who has shown that he his only human
And knows that all humans make mistakes
of all sizes, some become severe and
some decide who lives and who dies.
This is the cry of the shinobi. He died on the battle field, bloodied and dirtied. He was shown no respect, his head-band slashed and torn. He wasn't quite dead when they walked by, he tried to open his mouth and yell for help. But his voice was silent, unheard and his attempts to live unseen. There is always the stories of the survivors, they tell of the glory of their allies who had fallen.
But the fallen know better.
The fallen shinobi thinks of all that he has done, and closes his eyes. He tries to move but he can't, tries again and he rolls over to see the sky. It is night now, with stars speckled over the midnight blue sky. A small smile graces his lips, his last ever.
Some people who will try to retrieve his body will see the smile and think he died happy in battle. A heros death, glorified in all it's respects. Speeches are made and flowers placed at graves but no one knows the reason he smiled.
So they assume he died happy in battle.
And they will assume that until they die a "heros death".
Naruto is not mine.
