Shawn sat on the couch staring down at his girlfriend who was currently pressed into his side. He knew staring at her was probably somewhat creepy, yet he couldn't help himself. They'd been together for just over a year now, probably the best year of his life so far. She was way too good for him.
I've been beaten down, I've been kicked around; but she takes it all for me. And I lost my faith, in my darkest days, but she makes me want to believe.
Shawn was a different person now than he was when he first met Juliet. He'd been flighty, irresponsible, and completely scared of commitment. He'd been hurt by people one to many times, and he wasn't able to hold a relationship. But some how she'd understood. She caught on to his act almost immediatly, and she started playing right along with him. She had somehow taken a weight off his shoulders durring their first five years of friendship. And when Shawn had wanted to simply give up and leave again, it had been her to make him stay. It had been her to put him back together. And all the while she had no idea.
Well I had my ways, they were all in vain. But she waited patiently. It was all the same, all my pride and shame. And she put me on my feet.
Shawn had done some pretty stupid things while on his quest to win over Juliet. He'd betrayed her trust, and he'd broken her heart. He had, thought, tried his hardest not to. But at that point he didn't know how much longer he could wait, and given the challenge, he tried to move on. Effectively breaking Juliet's heart in the process, of course. But even after him causing her that much pain, she still managed to pull him back up when it was needed. She still believed in him, and she never once gave up completely. She truly is amazing.
And when the world slows down, dear. And when those stars burn out, here. Oh she'll be here, yes she'll be here.
"Shawn?" Juliet asked quietly, looking away from the movie in front of her and up at her boyfriend.
"Jules?" Shawn asked back, smiling down at her. She smiled softly back.
"You've been staring at me for over half of the movie. Not that I mind, but it is getting slightly creepy," she admitted with a laugh, pressing a kiss to his cheek when he feigned a hurt expression.
"Jules, come on!" Shawn said with a slightly teasing tone. "You're my absolutely stunningly, gorgeously, amazing girlfriend. And I love you. So how can I not stare?"
"I love you, too, handsome. Now why don't you start actually watching the movie. I'm not going anywhere. You can look at me whenever you want," Juliet promised, kissing him quickly before turning back to the movie. Pulling her closer to his side, Shawn looked at her once more before looking towards the movie. *Yeah.* Shawn thought to himself with a smile. *She's not going anywhere.*
