Chapter 1
Elijah:
I don't know why I am truly intrigued by this stranger. For many weeks, I have observed this exquisite woman. I knew she was seventeen or eighteen, judging by her lovely appearance. Looking from this park bench, her brown golden hair with blond streaks shimmered in the glistening sunlight. Her face is so fine and delicate, sitting under the large shady tree. Her small hands were holding a book as she read it so innocently. Not knowing, a piece of paper flew away from one of her books as she continued peacefully reading. I caught it in my hands and observed the beautiful delicate drawing in front of me as I walked towards her direction.
"Pardon me," I started, "Sorry to bother you, but is this yours?" She suddenly looked up with a surprised look.
"Umm… oh yes, thank you!" she gently took it from my hand and then continued reading.
"It's a very beautiful and intricate drawing. Did you do this?"
She looked up again and put on a slight smile. "Yes, it's a picture of my parents in a rainforest…"
"Your parents must be dearly proud of you." Her smile went a little crooked.
"Umm… yeah-I, I don't really know… they aren't alive anymore to say anything."
I was about to apologise but then after the many years that I've lived on this planet, I've realised people don't take them in a decent manner or don't want forgiveness.
"That's very sad to hear." I implied what I said was very true. No matter how much people think of me as a murderer, I do it for a purpose, as much as I don't want to. I don't do it for fun or to go on a killing spree like my devilish brother, Klaus.
"I have to go now." She started to pack her things and walk back to wherever she was going, but I interrupted.
"Forgive me, but I didn't seem to catch your name." I said with a smile.
She paused for a minute, probably thinking if she should give a random stranger her name. "It's Annabella. Anna for short." It was the last thing she said before she turned back and left.
