Kid Flash frowned at the "All Things Magical" Trick Box sitting on the table in front of his best friend. The said friend, if he wasn't so occupied in reading the "Magician's Handbook", would have normally made a quip about Wally's dumbfounded expression, but Wally didn't need Robin to tell him that the scene in front of him was making him extremely chalant .

Robin was in the middle of trying to make a quarter 'disappear', following the diagrams to try and slip it down his sleeve in a smooth movement, when Wally sat down in front of him. "Dude," Wally said simply, "What are you doing."

Robin's attention remain focused on the handbook, eyes narrowed beneath his glasses. "Researching," he mumbled.

"With magic tricks?" It was at this point that Wally began to seriously wonder about the state of his friends health. "What are you trying to research with magic tricks?"

"Robin got a crush," Artemis sang out from behind them. Wally turned around to look at her, leaning on the bench with a smirk on her face.

He gave her a puzzled look. "What are you talking about?" Artemis rolled her eyes.

"They don't call you Kid Oblivious for nothing, do they?"

Wally brushed her off. "That's ridiculous," he said, turning back to Robin. "There's no way Rob would have a crush..." he stopped as the absence of his friend clicked. Artemis snorted in the background.

"Think again," she said.

~o~

Robin taps again on the window, wondering to himself what the hell he is doing. It's the middle of the night, she probably asleep, and oh god, what if this isn't even her window?

He almost springs away when the window shakes and slides open. "Sorry," she grins at him, her hair slightly tousled from being in bed. "It gets stucks sometimes," she continues, referring to the window, "and I'm sure Dad has something to do it with."

Crap, crap, crap, what is he doing? "Sorry," he stammers, "if I woke you I mean." Get traught Robin, get traught. "I just wanted to show you something."

"Don't worry about it," she says, pulling herself through the window and into the garden next to him. "What did you want to show me?"

Don't mess it up now.

He slides his right hand towards her to push a dark tangle of hair behind her ear. Be traught, be traught. The sleight of hand tricks weren't too hard to get used to, but he still didn't want to stuff it up now. Zatanna keeps her eyes on his face while his thumb brushes her ear, and he pulls his hand away, now holding a red rose towards her.

She laughs at the gesture, taking the offered rose. Robin grins, half in relief and half in teenage giddiness. "Nice one," Zatanna says, before muttering something else. Robin doesn't hear what it is, but soon figures it out as the ground begins to sprout with more red roses.

Robin gazes in awe at the amount of roses around them, concealing them from the rest of the world. "What do you think?" Zatanna asks him.

And he leans forward and kisses her.
