Right okay...So I know I haven't been around in a long time...I'll try to be better about that. Here's something that's been sitting on my computer for quite some time...finally sharing it. I'll try to write another chapter to my other story soon! I've just been soo busy. Thanks for being patient! I really appreciate it! Well, here goes.
Scars
Katniss Everdeen Mellark sat in the quiet meadow watching her children play. She watched them run along the shadow of a fence that used to be there along the edge of the woods. She looked down at her hands with which she had been fiddling with a peice of grass. She remembered the scars that used to be there from hunting in the woods with Gale, climbing trees, from the games, and from when she once tried to pick up a bottle when she was too foolish to know how deep glass could cut. As she remembered all of the stories from the scars that had been erased from sight but not from mind, she looked up again at her children. They would someday have scars of their own and would ask her why she had none. And she would tell them. But that day was not today and she hoped it would not be for a long time. Suddenly, Peeta came up behind her, wraping his arms around her.
She sighed and asked, "Peeta, what will we tell them?"
Peeta looked down at her and smiled, "We'll tell them how you saved me and all of Panem. We'll tell them that their mother is the mockingjay."
Katniss smiled and kissed him. She was so lucky to have Peeta. She may have saved his life once but he kept saving her's. She remembered what Haymitch had once said. She really could live a hundred lifetimes and never deserve Peeta.
Like it? Not like it? I won't know if you don't review! :)
